The more kids that come out the better the competition will be for positions. I wonder how many kids are planning on playing that didn't last year?

Evarts High School was the Wildcats.

Harlan Co. should have one of the best O-lines in the mountains. I would also love to see TJ Green get 15 to 20 carries a game. He has never played a full season @ TB.

Who would be the favorites to start on the O-Line? Also, is there any word on Shequille Clark and whether he is attending offseason workouts?

He's been coming. Why wouldn't he be? OL returning- Jamie Ball, Austin Short, George Shoemaker 8 games started then injured, Alex Haywood 4 games started. Bryan Owens 2 games started.

The kids say many others are working hard and have hopes of starting so who knows in the end.

A friend of mine has a son that plays, and the son said he hadn't seen Clark for a couple of days. I don't know much about the HC depth chart, so I was just curious. I have to believe Clark is a big part of the plan for next season.

 

It definitely looks like the line will be solid and have depth.

I think Clark will help the Bears on "D" maybe @ a outside LB. The RB depth chart looks strong to me (Green, Smith, Taylor, McMillion). I think the big question @ RB will be finding a FB that can take Roberts place.

Clark is listed as a LB but he played DB last year so that may depend on where coach Larkey needs him. I figured Burgan might work his way onto the field at LB. I also agree with the depth at RB. If Smith and McMillian work their way into the line up, Dylon Smith will stay at WR, but I believe he will see some time at RB just to get him more involved. He did get used at RB quite a bit toward the end of the season, but I don't think we will be hurting at RB. Roberts will be missed at FB, but he will be missed more on Defense.

 

I have heard Coach Larkey say that evey job is up for graps this year who ever performs will get the job, upper classmen wont get it just because. Of course that's just good coaching making everyone work. It puts drive in the juniors and seniors and excitement and hope into the Frehman and sophs.

Clark started last season at SS every game until the M'boro game. After a shoulder injury, Dylon Smith played that spot. Burgan started the first two games at OLB before he had a broken hand. That injury sidelined him for sometime. It was hard for him to unseat Maggard at that spot once he came back but he did start the playoff game at Breathitt in that spot. Roberts and Blake Polson will both be very hard to replace on D.

Burgan saw significant action at FB last season. So did Jeremiah Eldridge. I think Jamille Stewart could maybe play there also.
