  1. Grant, Parks, M Williams, Fox, Lester, Luttrell, Thomas bros, Collins, Miniard, Alred, thats ten just off the top of my head, and all of these played college ball.
  2. Just trying to be nice, and I agree that Loyall was the foundation of his rise, I as well is one proud Indian, so I know what greatness came from that end of the county. Now before you go off the deep end I am not referring to myself.
  3. Evarts team has Black Mountain Middle students that also play with them, so its eight schools for three teams. Some of these schools are small and wouldn't have enough to field a team. Green Hill, and Black Mt for sure, and maybe JACES or Cawood Ele.
  4. I couldn't make out some of the faces, but 13 does look like Freddy my guess was based on I didn't see Rex Estridge who was on the 68 team or Donnie McClain who was a grad in 73. My lord I don't feel this old.
  5. The TOASTER!!! During his last year the coaching staff tinkered with letting him run the ball in short yardage situations, hince the toaster was born.
  6. I think #13 is coach Hunter's son Freddy, I was thinking 70-71.
  7. From what he said the entire staff will still be there next year.
  8. It does my heart good to know that my friend (Lungbuster) goes all out to tell the world about the greatness of a former Dragon. :thumb: Keep spreading the word, we are not so bad after all.
  9. Really no reason to comment on the 52nd, all of the teams are just not playing very good at the end of the season.
  10. HDE should be feeling the pressure, after this beating!
  11. I thought someone would have remembered the nickname by now, hint, it is found in the kitchen of most homes. Mountain Warrior be over at the field at 4:00 on Wednesday if you can.
  12. A little Luttrell triva for you to ponder. What was the nickname that was given to John during his playing days at Union College? Mountain warrior your not included!
  13. Ben Madon, he is about 6'3" and has a good arm, saw him play in some JV games and he seems ready to step up and take the rains.
  14. Coach D has always been run first offense, but with Pennington and Link, it is a good 1-2 punch, I think that they may have a wild card to play in Ben Cornett he may well switch to an H-back next year and get some well earned carries. He played in that postition last year at Perry Co and had a monster game until he got an ankle turned around backwards. He runs very hard and has deceptive speed, so he could be the extra kick that this offense needs. As far as workouts go they are having 25-30 working out at the high school level, you probably have 10-15 playing basketball at the middle and high school. So there is a shot a getting over the magic 40 number, and fielding a JV team, as stated before this is one hurdle that must be crossed.
  15. He was one of the best players that I have seen in sometime, he has great range on his jumper, handles the ball with either hand, can drive to the rim and finish, he has unreal elevation on his jump shot, he also has decent size and length. All in all it was a very entertaining game, McBee reminds me of a former Cawood standout the had a pretty good career in the SEC.
  16. HC really did go hard to the offensive glass, after looking at the stats with Caldwell hitting 6/9 from the field and the guards hitting a combined 6/35, it might be time to make and extra pass or two and feed the post, as much as possible. The games that I have seen them play well in are the ones that keep Caldwell in the flow of the offense on every trip down the floor except transition.
  17. I am glad that someone else pointed out that the other districts are stronger this year, and I am not trying to degrade the locals.
  18. His normal game very solid, he had a double double, 18 points and 11 boards. HC guards were 6/35 from the field.
  19. Clay had at least 7-8 blocked shots on the Bears, really good D, block out as good as any team.
  20. No, why is it that if I state my opinion that it is fodder to start an argument. My position is that the 49th winner and maybe the runner up is better than anyone in the 52nd, for sure the 50th is better than either, and the 51st winner and maybe the runner up are better. I look at who is playing the best ball now, for me it is South, Corbin, Clay, Knox,Pineville, the next three could be in any order North, HC, Mboro. I look for Bell Co to keep getting better, Mboro to fall back, and HC to keep playing about the same. All year long Les's ratings have kept HC at the bottom two in the top 10, guess what only eight teams make it to the regional. More of my reasoning was about Mboro they seem to always fall short of what is expected of them, I don't see a change this year.
  21. Still sticking with my prediction on no wins for the 52nd in the regional.
