This game could be a close one if Lynn Camp can hold their own in the 1st quarter, Bears still have a few things to work out. (1) get in better playing shape (2) cut down on penalties (15) last week, and (3) take better advantage of take-aways (6) last week. I know the coaches will be stressing these things this week but it will be hard to be polished in just one week. The one other area that has coach Larkey concerned is the depth situation with six players going both ways that only gives you around 18 players getting most of the game time, and even with 85+ players quality depth is still a problem. Figure out that Happy should have been offered one or all of these jobs over the last 5-6 years. His record is unreal over the last twelve years and his players get to futher their skills overseas.

Did any of the turnovers result in points fo HC? One would think that if the D gave you six take-aways that the O should be in great shape to get a big win. IMHO

Depth in football is huge in whatever level, that is the main reason coaches spend so much time in practice trying to develop quality depth in all areas, is to keep everyone fresh when you have fresh sets of legs the fourth quarter can become much eaiser for teams that are fortunate to have it.

HCHS has got to be able to get heat on Banks or it could be a long night, the D-line has to be in the backfield to give the DBs some help. The offense must keep the chains moving and play field postition and ball control. If they do this game is winnable if not LCC may have an easy time. I want to see if the Bears get down how they respond, do they hang their heads or come back and take the fight to the Cougars. This is so cool we have so many questions and no one really has the answers about a first year program.

I think 2500 would be more like it, there were plenty of seats on the side where KC fans were, HC fans far out numbered the fans from both Wburg and KC. It was a great turnout for a grid. Coach Donahue was also at Middlesboro this weekend along with some of his staff for the middle school grid, he also takes great intrest in the feeder programs at HMS, btw both 5-6 and 7-8 were very successful as they both had shutouts against Lynn Camp.

When was the last time that a team from Harlan Co made a deep run in the playoffs? With all of this moaning and complaining you would think that are going to get five downs to get a first down all year. If they run through the 3A playoffs and get to Papa Johns nobody from this part of the state will care how or who they had to beat.

I don't think Kirksey ever played in the NFL but he has coached all over. At one time he was Jerry Rice's postition coach.

Getting WYMT involved would take a great deal of ad sales to be able to get a game on TV. I have met with the sales staff about getting some NAIA basketball games of local interest on the station and was told that it requires a pretty big commentment for them to get excited about live TV.
