McFarland to Gtown??

Featured Replies

Steven McFarland, 6'5 from Boone County may be on the verge with signing with Gtown College.....does anyone know anything further....if so there goes Happy loading up with more Kentucky talent....one of these days EKU, Morehead, and WKU are going to figure it out!

Figure what out? Six of WKU's 13 players on the 07/08 team came from Kentucky high schools, which is pretty good considering Kentucky doesn't really have that much D-I talent to go around.

Eastern had three Ky kids last year, but none for 08/09 because of graduation. Morehead has one Ky kid on their roster. Neither of them have really recruited Kentucky heavily anyway, but what would be the point of recruiting a bunch of Kentucky kids who aren't Division I-caliber?

What position?

Happy also feasts on the Div-1 transfers available to add to those Kentucky boys.

Figure out that Happy should have been offered one or all of these jobs over the last 5-6 years. His record is unreal over the last twelve years and his players get to futher their skills overseas.

I thought McFarland suddenly transferred when I read the title.

He joins Mason County Senior Guard Russ Middleton, who signed with Georgetown earlier this week.

Does anyone have any more info on this kid? Happy is known for finding sleepers...like Silverhorn, Blake Downing, etc...

Doesn't his dad coach at NKU - strange that if he is going to go to the NAIA/DII level he wouldn't become a Norseman.

Figure out what? That they should hire Happy or they should sign more in-state talent.

If it's the latter ... well, there is one big difference. Georgetown doesn't play the same competition level as Morehead, Eastern and Western.

They should do both :) I just think in state D1 coaches could better develop their programs if they would develop more relationships with in state coaches/players...no matter if the kids are signing big time D1 or not.....BTW Gtown does play Louisville and BYU this year.....they took Louisville to the wire two years ago....

Good for him. He would be a asset to any program, NKU or G-town. It is nice to see any NKY kid that puts in the hard work, get to play at any level after high school.

Wish the best for him!
