What position does he play?

He was OL/DL/FB last year.

He was OL/DL/FB last year.

What do you think that he will play on offensive side this season?

kicker?

He is also the kicker, no joke.

James Ball is a coaches dream. He is an all purpose football player. He can do it all (had him in the 6th grade). I understand he might play some D1 football. Best of luck to him and HCHS.

How many starters does HC have returning?

Looks like they have alot returning.

Looks like they have alot returning.

The speed in the backfield will be tough to replace but luckily there are some underclassmen who got good experience with their Freshmen and JV games and should be ready to step right in and feel the slots.

I have to believe that all this hard work and dedication in the weight room during the off season will produce more than just stronger players. The team chemistry will be vastly improved. The sheer amount of kids participating is exciting and perhaps there's a diamond in the rough that will emerge this Fall.

Whoever earns the QB spot should have ample time to do their thing. The O-line is looking good!

Isn't that a lot of people playing both ways for a team with that many players?

It is a lot. Lots of kids doesn't always mean lots of depth. I do know that most of the kids like the TEs, RBs, WRs, FBs that they will have next year will not be full time two way players. Most of those positions are shared by a few kids. So, most of them aren't on the field as much as it would appear.

Heck Mama, you've got me so interested in seeing how Harlan Co. does, I might have to make a road trip to see these kids play. Hope they are as good as advertised. If so, we should get the opportunity to host the Bears in the playoffs.

I hope we will get to come up and make the visit! There's alot of work to be done from now till then. I believe this bunch of kids here have their mind's right. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens this year. There's some talented kids here and I believe we have the right coaching staff in place.

I have been a little occupied and am just getting back into things.....

I look for a few of the kids to have special years......

Ball...Man Child

Dylon Smith...has a pair of rocket boosters attached to him

James Phillips..See comments on Ball

One kid I look for phenominal results out of is Jordan Calton. Jordan has the frame and raw talent, if he can pack weight on, to be as good as anyone from around here in a long time.
