December 30, 200817 yr What are you memories as BGP's best moments, threads, posts, get togethers etc. One of my favorites is how so many BGPers prayed so hard for RebelK during her surgery. The same goes for how many prayers were offered for Purplehaze. Another fav for me was when some of us met at the Hofbrauhaus where I got to meet one of our best members, AA. Another was getting to see Commando and Swamprat again. I have many others that I'll post later. How about the rest of you, what are some of your best BGP moments for the year?
December 30, 200817 yr You were gone? Ouch lol... But, on a more serious note. I didn't post much, but I definitely enjoyed reviewing the many threads in the P&R forum about the presidential election.
December 30, 200817 yr Birdsfan's 'Squirrel Lust" post. A new low for all of us!!!I can't help if I was exposed to blatant forest-nication.
December 30, 200817 yr - Like last Presidential election, keep up with the POTUS race was fun. Lots of diverse opinions that I enjoy reading. - Football season
December 30, 200817 yr Spindoc becoming a moderator, and getting to know him, and become friends with him. Also Ram becoming a moderator, and getting to know him better.
December 30, 200817 yr One of my early 2008 memories was predicting that the Cats (who were 7-9 at the time), would tear the SEC up and make the NCAA tourney. Most people laughed and everyone that didn't laugh was thinking they should - but then, in a blaze of glory, I got the last laugh :thumb: I also enjoyed all the memorable presidential theads, the Elliott County threads, and as always - everything UK. There were some good threads about the Olympics this year, as well. One of, if not my favorite though, has to be the day that TTClown and I decided that we needed to look at the ins and outs of the simple (or not so simple as it turned out) pine tree
December 30, 200817 yr For me, my Best of BGP 2008 in Review list is as follows: 1) Finally becoming a member in April after being a "reader" for well over a year. 2) Getting to know some of the members on the site. 3) Reading about BF's squirrel problems. 4) The BGP presidential election coverage. 5) Being a part of arguably the best late-nighters thread ever.
December 30, 200817 yr Spindoc becoming a moderator, and getting to know him, and become friends with him. Also Ram becoming a moderator, and getting to know him better.Agree with that sentiment as well. Even if you do have hole-y shoes.:ylsuper:
December 30, 200817 yr Spindoc becoming a moderator, and getting to know him, and become friends with him. Also Ram becoming a moderator, and getting to know him better. While I am not as cool as Ram or Spindoc, I agree that getting to know all the mods has been fun.
December 30, 200817 yr While I am not as cool as Ram or Spindoc, I agree that getting to know all the mods has been fun. I mean really getting to know them. I've enjoyed you becoming a mod also buggati, but we've never met. You'll have to come to Ashland and buy my lunch, and then I'll include you also. :D
December 30, 200817 yr While I am not as cool as Ram or Spindoc, I agree that getting to know all the mods has been fun. When you do finally get a chance to buy LRCW's lunch, please do something about the man's shoes.
December 30, 200817 yr Random 2008 thoughts for me: - Being part of BGP for Mason County's 2008 basketball championship; I wasn't here in 2003. - Previously mentioned 2008 POTUS election (caused me to hang out in P&R way more than usual for a month or two). - Previously mentioned "pine thread" in General Discussion. One of those quirky threads that was a classic for me. - Playing the strange little games that are often posted in General Discussion. - The "I"ve Got a Confession" thread - maybe my favorite of 2008. And most important, getting to know more BGP members; either in person or in cyberspace.
