BGP 2008 In Review

Featured Replies

Oh there is so many to list...

Stuff that I get a good chuckle out of off the top my head.

- BF and his squirrel issues!

- Sticky and his play-by-play thread on his stones!

These are probably two of the best!

I might also add the intellectual discussion of all things pine. ;) Already mentioned above, but that was good!

Life bites...and sometimes, that's in the nether reagions. :D

But in the nether region?

It's all about commitment ...

Honestly, if I couldn't have joked about it I'm not sure I would've gotten through it...

Spindoc becoming a moderator, and getting to know him, and become friends with him. Also Ram becoming a moderator, and getting to know him better.

Agree with that sentiment as well. Even if you do have hole-y shoes.:ylsuper:

As much as I enjoyed BGP before becoming a mod, was exceeded after becoming a mod. I have had a great time with all the moderators, and wouldn't trade a minute of it for anything.

I really enjoyed meeting several BGP members in 2008: theguru, STRIKE3, Watusi, mcpapa, Birdsfan, Painter, and Graybeard.

Watching Strike3's son and HitCatchThrow's son play baseball in Central Park with S3, spindoc, HitCatchThrow, and LRCW.

Bad mouthing the mods to HCT in Central park, with him not knowing that spindoc, LRCW, and S3 were all moderators.

I have enjoyed moderating the site, but my favorite part has not been handling violations, but when a member just asks for help, or wants me to change something for them. I have enjoyed those moments the most.

I have had some great conversations with some members. I always have some great conversations with Oldrambler and Cvill, but I have also talked quite a bit with HCT, Painter, Coupon21, and Graybeard. I have really enjoyed those.

Football season was great, in case you didn't know Raceland had a good season, we Raceland fans hardly posted anything about them.

- The "Can you complete all levels thread." The most addicting game ever. Was that in '08? I guess it was. I can still hear that "Beginning/End" song :irked:

One of, if not my favorite though, has to be the day that TTClown and I decided that we needed to look at the ins and outs of the simple (or not so simple as it turned out) pine tree

I have a plethora of thread ideas for the new year and I hope you'll be ready hop on board!!

No doubt!! :laugh::laugh:

My most thankful/favorite memory this year was when all of the people posted their prayers and concerns for my wife when she was hospitalized and had to have an emergency/life threatening surgery.

My good friend cvillecat posted the prayer thread, I had called him that morning and was unable to post anything at that time. Thank you again to all that posted on the prayer thread for my wife, you will never know how much that meant to me and my wife.

The BGP "prayers needed" threads are imo by far the best. These threads show just how much and how many people care about one another on here. BGP is truly a family.

I am thankful for the BGP friends that I have never met face to face but have had some very nice conversations with.......

RebelK immediately comes to mind. This lady is all class and we all could learn a lot on how to treat people from her.

Bluto.....my man bluto, what can I say. This man is more than a litte crazy and I can relate and admire that in person :D.

RTS is another that I have had some good post/pm's with but never met. Painter, Niners fan and Graybeard also have become very good friends that feel that I have known all my life just by converstions/post and pm's on bgp.

Finally I am thankful and appreciative of my BGP friends that I have known for years, long before BGP. You guys know about my limitations/disability and have helped in every way and in some that you don't even know how it helped and what your encouragement has meant.....

Ram, incognito, the greatest fan, LRCW, The Red Rambler (I think that you know what your family means to me)

Last but certanly not least.....cvillcat, cville and I have been friends for as long as I can remember. Our parents knew each other when they were young and in school. This mans entire family are special people and cvillecat, you are "famly" to me in every sense of the word.:thumb:

Also, to all of the Raceland Ram fans on here....I have had fun posting wth you, especially during football season. As Ram mentioned something about it, I think that I remember something about Raceland football and them maybe having a decent season, winning a couple of games although I don't know how. There were hardly any post by any Raceland fans on Ram football this past season, you people really need to step it up and let someone know how you feel. :sssh::D

Happy New Year To All of BGP!!!

Meeting several BGP Members and some very informative, some funny and some heartfelt threads. Ram, Spindoc, LRCW and I hanging out was fun for us, even better for the economy. Meeting Swamprat and having him attend a game, was an honor. Seeing Gold in Rupp, was awesome.

Getting to meet 2C's son and talk some Baseball, was super. Playing golf with Prof a while back, lot of fun. Seeing my 'bro Stickymitts, always an honor. Always picking on Rockmom, was fun. Getting to read the posts, is an honor.

Please also keep in mind, being a Mod is a job and if you've received a violation notice from myself or others, it's only because we want to keep BGP, the best site there is.
