I agree with that. You can also throw in Lex Cath. Though Highlands has beaten them the last 2 years. They are a formidable opponent.

In all honesty does anyone think the Birds won't repeat? The classes are not going to change so next year does anyone think they can't do it? Just curious.

 

Of course they Can...Although right now it is hard to tell...Highlands is Highlands...It all depends on what Schools like Bowling Green,Christian Co.Owensboro ext... are going to be looking like in 09...:thumb:

I don't have a problem with Highlands playing Beechwood. Let's face it, Beechwood is always one of the best NKY teams, regardless of football class. Plus, they have that "winner" mentality, and it's good for HHS to face opponents not cowed by the famed "Highlands mystique."

If we are talking about Highlands, then the answer has to be 'Yes they can'. Will they remains to be seen, but no doubt they can.

Next year is not the year for Beechwood to take on Highlands. Beechwood loses nearly every one of their top players and the replacements are veery small and have not earned much playing time yet. The reload thing has to stop some time and next year appears to be that time. I expect Beechwood to return to prominance when the current freshman team players become juniors.

Highlands is like thier cannon, they just reload and fire. I believe they will win it next year.

I have a question about this year's team that is way off base. How come #7 didn't get more pub? He was all over the field against Christian County. He looked like one of the top 3 players on their defense.

I think part of the reason is that Highlands doesn't keep defensive stats. Number 7 was number 58 until Roller went down. You're right that Laber didn't get the publicity he should have; but we know how important he was to winning state; what a great leader he was, and most importantly what a fine young man he is. Jim and Lupita are rightfully proud. :thumb:
