You're right. Didn't mean to leave those out. I just mentioned the "sure things". I'd be shocked to see Bell repeat, just because of having LexCath and Boyle to fend off, but it will rotate amonst those three schools.

 

Ft. Campbell. Man, isn't this a great story for these kids? I actually woud like to see them 3-peat. Those kids deserve the world on a platter for everything that their families have to go through during these times. Bless everyone of them.

I think part of the reason is that Highlands doesn't keep defensive stats. Number 7 was number 58 until Roller went down. You're right that Laber didn't get the publicity he should have; but we know how important he was to winning state; what a great leader he was, and most importantly what a fine young man he is. Jim and Lupita are rightfully proud. :thumb:

 

Why did they change his number after Roller got injured? I don't think I have ever heard of that in high school football before. Laber was a great team leader,and played excellent during the state championship game,he played like he was mad!:thumb:

Correct me if I'm wrong LN but isn't it because they don't want personal statistics affecting the focus of their defense? HHS plays assignment football as good as anyone and I believe this is why. There aren't very many selfish players.

Heck yeah they can repeat. Highlands has some real studs coming back at the skilled positions. Along with a tested line, the Birds should be able to roll once again. Highlands will have to work extra hard next year to keep the focus come playoff time. IMO, Highlands schedule doesn't impress me with the type of team they will have in 2009.

Right, next season would have been the season they could have handled a rigorous schedule.

As far back as I can remember we have always messed up the schedule. The years HHS could handle a big time schedule they didn't and the years we couldn't do it we ended in The Pit or another Cincy team place. They will need to be focused this team has a ton of talent and it would be a same for something bad to happen.
