I definately think they did a great job of weathering the storm against Christian Co.

 

Highlands and NKY in general have a great football program from the youth league on up and thats the key.

 

Highlands was impressive last night.

It will be an upset if HHS does not repeat in 2009.

It truly does. Cincinatti St. X was national champs last year.

 

Enjoy being tied for the most state titles for about 5 more hours.

What are you guys afraid of. If you truly are the King of the Bluegrass, best in the state,etc, you should be eager to move up. What are you waiting for? We'd love to settle it on the field, not on a pc keyboard.

 

I think Dale should schedule Trinity somewhere in regular season. Highlands has beaten Trinity before. What a great game that would be!:thumb:

I think they can three-peat. Until a group of boys in 5A decides to man-up, the 5A class is owned by Highlands.

Thank you!!!! Highlands is already playing up 2 divisions and still winning state titles. What would happen if they played in their correct division?

For HHS to 3 peat, the Juniors to be will have to step up in the weight room and on the field. There is virtually no varsity experience in that class. I do think this will transpire and the Birds go to WKU and bring back #19

I agree, they have some good skill guys but are small. I think Gall, Seidle, Gold, Compton all could play a significant role next year on special teams/defense and even on offense. Brendan Sullivan is a manchild and put together. If they can keep him on a straight line during the school year I think he steps up as a major contributor on the defensive line.

 

I also expect next year's soph class to contribute. In order to keep the tradition going Dale is going to need to get the sophs/jr's next season more snaps than the underclassman saw this season. The seniors next year will be very strong and deep and should get up on teams early and often.

Hahn and Meyers are two current sophomore linemen that could contribute next year if they take the off season commitment seriously. I'm very confident that they will do just that. :thumb:

Lets start talking about it. I think with the Birds returning 10 starters to 22 positions and having some solid backups this season that they are poised to earn #19 next season. When you have guys like Collinsworth, Bardo, Buten, Roller, Combs, Grubbs, Schlosser, Welz, Fennell, Beck, Hogue and Alford returning you gotta feel good. Their current Frosh class is very strong and will IMO need to step up as sophomores and gain valuable experience. HHS will be a senior laden team next season. The question mark might be in the Junior class next season. Outside of Gold, Compton, Sullivan, Seidle, Gall, Abner who will be stepping up to fill some of those spots?

Who will replace the running backs? Fennell, Compton? Should be fun come springtime to see who has gotten bigger, stronger and faster.

 

Might as well add the rest of the Jr's to be Sr's next season to your list of favorites. Neil, Moyer, Gugal, Bankamper and Dierig all will contribute in some fashion to the "team's" success next season. Bankamper played on most of the special teams and had a fantastic JV season at RB and LB. Dierig started 5 games on the DL this season for the Birds and was in the rotation gaining valuable experience all season.

Is the safety back for HHS? I thought he played a heck of a game.
