I love the way T counts ice hockey, bowling, lacross, ping pong, volleyball,rowing, and bass fishing in their state championship totals.

You won those on the field, you have the AP trophey to prove it, you bet you count it.

 

I believe that the AP had X as Number 1 at the end of the 2005 and 2007 regular seasons also. Sort of lets you know what those 'VOTED" trophys are worth. See you on the field - where it counts.

You could quote the classy exchange from the Trinity coaches on national TV in front of the players. I understand coaches argue but that was over the line IMO, what happens when cameras aren't there??? Yes, Beatty is a great coach on X-O's but where there is smoke there is fire.

 

It is no secret these teams are about even. One or two plays will decide the winner.

...But before we do; did you not watch the Olympics this year? Swimmers are some of the most in shape athletes in the world. As far as the KHSAA is concerned there is a big difference between KHSAA sponsored sports and Club Sports. Besides look at the number 2 Swimming program in the State 2 of the last 3 years. Don’t dis the aqua pebbles.

 

Also, if you are going to bring it up, lets have our facts straight. These are the Sponsored KHSAA Sports with the number of Team Titles Overall.

Not a rookie at all and no offense taken. Been around a few years and changed user name for kids graduation dates but thanks for warm welcome. You take yours and I'll have mine even if it means we never win a state ring again. Let's look out 5-10-20 years from now and who/how many (including kids who rarely play) come back to pay respects to Lampley/Glaser vs. Beatty. That is the true test.

I watched the show with my son. He was proud of Trinity and the way it was portrayed, including their coach. His comment that struck me the most: "Coach Beatty is intense about football. He's all about perfection. But, off the field, he always made a point to stop by our table at lunch and just talk." He also saw my son 3 years after my son had to stop playing football, at a completely unrelated place (ie, not at Trinity). He knew who my son was, what he was doing, where he was going to school, and talked to him for quite a while about "life things" (my son's words).

 

I didn't know any of the above about Coach Beatty at school until we talked. I suspect that perceptions are not always reality. But, it's always more personally fulfilling I guess, to try and attack a man's integrity and personality, than to realize that not all people are made the same.

 

For what it's worth, it seems you have the right guy for you, and we have the right guy for us.
