I think many people are not really looking at how the first game this year went and are just going by the score. It WAS 10-6 midway through the third quarter and had Trinity not dropped that interception, this thread may not be different. A healthy offensive line this time for the Rocks will be huge as Tim should get more room to run as well as give Cameron some time to throw the ball. And if Trinity doesn't fumble 2 or three times and have I think it was 4 turnovers then, that game was closer than many people think. Everything just seemed to balloon on Trinity after Cameron fumbled at midfield.

Im going to go out and say Trinity by 10. They will be more disciplined with the ball and Tim will have over 100 yards.

 

Every defense in the country has two main goals. First stop the opponent from scoring, second create turnovers. Give the X defense a little credit. Like ROCKPRIDE says "thats 3 big ifs".

Just bought my tickets and I predict that they will go fast! I will also predict that the St.X Tigers will win this game. It will be much closer than the regular season game but in the end the Tigers are better on both lines, can run or throw,lots of quality depth,excellent special teams, a very nasty defense and they are hungry to "leave no doubt" to who is the best team in the state this year! The Tigers played in 1917, took a couple of years off and have played each season since 1920. Trinity has 18 state titles in football. St X has two pre-playoff ('56-'57)and 11 since the playoffs began in 1959 (2 -1960s, 3-1970s, 1- 1980s, 4-1990s, 1-2000s) Trinity has 1-60s, 4-70s, 5-80s, 2- 90s, 6-00s.

Good to be back on football (although the international flair was nice)... couple of questions: Are there any significant injuries on either side? Did Male have the option of having their game at PJCS as part of a double header?

That would take us back to the good old days of C-stadium. I remember freezing watching teams like Fairdale, Male and Ballard play us tough. I wish the playoffs were more competative.

Just to get us back to something that resembles the thread, is anyone tired of this two school domination every year? I know people that arent affiliated with either school are tired, but I raise the question here because I know a lot of X and T supporters are on this thread.

I went to X and there is nothing more that I would like to see than us to run off a few state championships in a row. But after that I would like to see more parity in the game.

Do any X or T supporters feel the same?

 

I would love to see more parity in KY high school football but the proper way to achieve that isn't to hamstring or punish the programs that are doing things the right way & succeeding. The proper path to take is to create an environment that encourages the under-achieving programs to improve. :thumb:

You pace, I scream like a manic on every play like I am coaching. You do not want to be anywhere near me on Friday because I have a lot of stored up emotions to release because I have missed the last 2 St.X vs. T games due to a wedding this year and company Christmas party last year. What does it matter when they play? Pretty much everyone knows the winner of this game is the state champion. Its not like other classes don't often play out in a similar fashion where everyone knows the winner of a semi-final matchup will win the championship game as well.

I can live with the domination. It is what it is. But, something that annoys me is the complaining I see when these two meet before the state finals.

It's probably just a matter of the loser not being able to officially say they are the state runner-up.

I'm happy they are playing before the State Championship because Trinity and St. X get to keep all the revenues from the game. The regular season matchup funds the athletic department at both schools. Now T and X get another boon! At State, KHSAA gets all the revenue.
