Once again, as in week 1, HHS fan is underestimating their opponent. If you want to win try not to infect your kids with your attitude, it alomost cost them last week and it surely will cost them this week.
We never underestimate an opponent.

When I was younger in the 70s I use to hang out at Collinsworth corner Grocery on Beach St. and South 29th St in Ashland, word has it and old man Collinsworth always said he was Chris's Grandfather.

They were very good people and always treated everyone good and would let people living from paycheck to paycheck run a monthly tab.Good old days.

I won't miss this game , JC has always treated everyone from Ashland with respect, play good hard nosed football and have the best grilled cheeshburgers around and plenty of room and tables to eat at and talk.

JC has a very nice stadiam and nice atmosphere for football.

I hung out there some my self. Cris Collinsworth worked behind the counter a couple of days. That goes way back.

I enjoyed watching Collinsworth play for the Bengals and knew he had Mountain ties. I hope his son considers UK, we always need good in state players.

Come on down and enjoy a great game! We have had many battles with Ashland, but in the end both teams fans respect the other team and love watching great players make plays! That is what makes our District so great and unique. We have a big order in HHS and need all the support we can get!

BS Played JC the third game of the year, the QB is a Soph and was still feeling his way. I guess the coaches didn't feel comfotable slinging the ball around after that first pick that went for a TD. The QB HHS faced was the same kid with 8 more games under his belt. Once again, as in week 1, HHS fan is underestimating their opponent. You need to hope the HHs coaches make some changes on defense this week because they cannot stop the JC offense in a 3-5-3. The weakness of the defense is off tackle and that is all JC does, run off tackle. Prepare for a high scoring affair, I said it in page 1 and I'll say it again JC wins at home 35-31.

Great post! If the HHS team has the same attitude as some of the posters JC already has an edge. JC has nothing but respect for HHS and knows it will have its hand full, but will not be intimidated by all this talk about who you have played and how many titles you have won and how talented you are. What is behind does not count, the game is with JC Friday night, rest assued Matney will have his team ready!

If you're going with the "they're underestimating us" card for motivation; there's a problem...

...but (JC) will not be intimidated by all this talk about who you have played and how many titles you have won and how talented you are.
Great; I feel a lot better about our chances.

Talk about underestimating your opponent--there's a perfect example!

Do not ,I repeat DO NOT come to paintsville without trying the Dairy Queen hot dog with sauce and slaw. You can thank me latter.

Is there a DQ in Johnsonville too?

Great; I feel a lot better about our chances.

This is getting to sound like the post with the CC people last week and more important things should be discussed. All I was saying is that JC has nothing but repect for HHS, you have an awesome team! But JC will not be intimadated and will come prepared to play. We will not overlook HHS, will you overlook us? The State Title does go through Johnsonville.

We're not asking you to be intimidated; and our team never overlooks any opponent.

I don't think anybody with any sense believes the championship is in the bag. But we know what our team can do when they play their best. I think what you read on these pages is nothing more than justifiable confidence.

Do they have past state titles? I have honestly never heard of JC but obviously they have a really good team this year. I know they are located near Paintesville who I saw play against NCC once. What has JC been like over the past 5 years? Were they 2A or 3A before the new system?

Not really...

Coach Matney is the KING of selling the "nobody out there thinks you even belong on this field with the other team" stuff to his players. He's done it for many years. The fact that it's Highlands coming in just makes his psych job a LOT easier than usual.

Matney's team won't be intimidated, but they will be whipped into an inferiority-complex based frenzy.

Coach is good with the mind game stuff. ;)

We're not asking you to be intimidated; ...

Actually, that's exactly what you did.

You replied, "Talk about underestimating your opponent--there's a perfect example!" when MonsterMan stated "will not be intimidated by all this talk about who you have played and how many titles you have won"...

Nope. Not asking for intimidation at all.
