They ran for the most part. They zipped around the ends real fast and threw little passes out to the side.

And they had a waterbug back who'd get hit, then brought down seven yards later. :scared:

#69 must be a Freshman.

Did you notice that his jersey was different? Late in the game there were several kids playing in older jerseys. Just slightly different, but different nonetheless. (Thin stripe on each sleeve.)

Station did a great job and had a great offensive game plan against Highlands.

That being said and kudos being given to Station O coaches, what puzzles me is why they didn't use a lot more of the dump passes, which worked well against Highlands, against JC? While JC has decent speed on D, safe to say its not as good as Highlands. And if the dump passes worked against Highlands, and they did, I'm pretty sure they'd have worked against JC. But instead of spreading the defense from sideline to sideline, from what I remember of the game, Bryan Station seemed to line up toe to toe, with double tight ends, against JC most of the time and try to beat JC at its strength. Bizarre offensive game plan for sure by Station in that game against JC.

I'm listening to the replay of the JC/CovCath game right now. JC is using a lot of misdirection and fake plays. They're sucking in the CovCath defenders with fake dives and end-arounds.

It was ALL night, and our defenders really just couldn't get the hang of it. It was no surprise though, our defense has had issues with the run all year.

I don't think Highlands defense will be as fooled as ours was.

HHS can study JC all they want, I believe the Birds could come out without knowing what to expect and still take this one, they are a good team both physically and mentally. Goodluck Birds

JC 29-28

Bluebird fans:

I thought I'd take the liberty of making the trip down to JC tonight to see them and what we'd be up against next week instead of watching our beloved Birds beat up on Ashland and here is what I came away with:

Offensively:

Passing:

Guidugli will pass ALL DAY on their secondary. The CCH receivers were so open it was unreal. If not for A LOT of dropped passes, Isler would have had every bit of 200 yards passing. If Guidugli is flushed out of the pocket, JC doesn't have the speed DEFENSIVELY to stop him from picking up big chunks of yardage if he decides to run it.

The Welch kid that plays DB WON'T be able to hang with Collinsworth. The HHS receivers should have a field day against the JC secondary.

Running:

JC is DECENT against the run but even CCH picked up long runs against them that the faster HHS running backs would have taken to the house. Crawford's speed and Conner's explosiveness will be tough for JC to contain. HHS should be able to open holes and run the ball with success.

Defensively:

The Birds may be in for a battle as the JC offense is good as advertised. JC will run the same offense as Colerain did and if the Birds had success stopping them, I really don't see JC scoring more than 14 considering they run that option no where near the perfection that Colerain does and don't have the same amount of size on the o-line. Their rb's don't have the same size, strength, or speed as those boys but if they get past the first level, they can take it the distance. The key for Highlands is winning the LOS battle. If they do this, which I'm almost certain they will, JC will really struggle to move the ball since they have ZERO passing game. They attempted one pass against the Colonels, on a flea flicker, and that resulted in an INT.

The JC backs run hard and have DECENT speed but if they can't get to the outside, they tend to get stopped for little to no gain. Almost all of their long TD runs against CCH came on off tackle options where they just out ran the CCH defenders because they were blitzing everyone and there was nobody at the second level.

My prediction? JC may be in for a long night with no passing game.

Highlands 42

Johnson Central 14

I am sure the JC coaching staff would love to have this to review to see where you think they are weak. Let the JC players read what the HHS fans think!

Most of the post on here from HHS are classy and I am sure that most of the fans are as well. Some of these posts suggest JC just pack it in and quit. Won't happen. JC will be ready to play and compete!

This will be an awesome game. I think I can speak for most of the JC fans and say we love to win and have been sucessful, but we enjoy watching great players make great plays and the field will be full Friday Night! HHS fans drive safe and come enjoy a great game.

It will be interesting game.

The last playoff game where a team lined up and ran straight at HHS was CCH in 06.

Watching the JC offense from the stands it is hard to appreciate the problems it causes defenses. The LB's eyes are seeing multiple fakes coming right at them, that are quick hitting. This type of offense causes aggresive fast pursuing teams difficulty because of the fast hitting nature. HHS must stay disciplined in their assignments.

Highlands big.

No, it won't. One dimensional teams don't win regional finals at the 5A level. Highlands 35 - JC 14.

Ya they do check your history.

Sorry Highlands JC wins in a upset 49-48 0T win.

Can someone from jc give us an overview of the stadium?

Stands? Field type and condition? Surronding area(ie: places to eat before)?

Thanks for any and all help!
