I had a GREAT time yesterday! The fans there were true fans and troopers! We had a blast tailgaiting. UK's offense was a disgrace the 1st half yesterday. The defense was on the field the whole game it seemed like so I have trouble laying blame there. Running into+getting knocked into the kicker was killer! The hit on the QB was a bad call I thought unless he hit him helmet to helmet then I could understand. Bottom line UK didn't play smart football and it beat them. I don't understand why they went away from the option either. There is no doubt in my mind they are a bowl team though. They have played with just about everybody on a tough schedule. Making my 1st trip ever to the Tenn game. I'm excited about it!

Whatever Brooks says at halftime he needs to use before the games. Special teams lost another one.

That was horrible.. Let them play!!! The last time I checked it is football they are playing..

Last time I checked refs are told to protect QB's, which is exactly what they did.

I had a blast at the game, as I got caught up in the game in the student section with a couple of shirtless kids, which was the most fun I have had this year. I just don't understand how we can keep shooting ourselves in the foot. I think the roughing the passer was a bad call (JMO though), but I also think we got away with a huge call on the E.J Adams catch. It looked like a push off to me, but then again I couldn't tell if the DB got tripped up or E.J made contact. Either way, it sucks being a cat fan this weekend!

Few thoughts:

Roughing passer: I thought was the wrong call. I even disagree with Daive's reason.

Roughing Punter: I think they where trying to make something happen because they playing so bad.

Defense first half stunk. Vandy was able to do what they wanted when they wanted too.

Offense first half: Did they play offense?

The last thing UK fans will hear this season: Thanks for attending the Liberty Bowl. Hope to see you again next year. (I just wished UL fans could hear it.)

Definitely. If the receiver would have atleast tried for the ball more, then it would have been atleast incomplete. Which still would have meant the ball game. However that pass wasn't that bad, just the DB wanted it more.

It was yet another case of a rotten pass route by a UK pass receiver and this one came at a very critical time. Gene McCaskill ran a "banana".....a route that is rounded and very easily for a defensive back to get a jump on and defend which is exactly what happened.

I put the mistake on the receiver, not Randall Cobb.

So hitting a guy two steps out of bounds is okay? Because it's really the same thing in this situation. Micah had plenty of time to not make contact with the QB but chose to anyway. That is why there was a flag not of him going high. It was a late hit.

I'm not sure what you were watching, but he did not take 2 steps. How you say he had plenty of time I don't know. On the other hand KY came out flat. Thats two years in a row to come out flat on senior night. I hope we learned something from this.

UK's tackling was inept. Poor tackling is a sure indication of a lack of focus. A major problem for UK (and UL for that matter) is that they have a much below average receiving corps. Consequently, they can't throw long and loosen things up. The receivers have a hard time getting open. I don't care if you're John Elway, you can't be a good passer if your guys can't get open. Finally, Joker and Rich........let Cobb try to win the game(s) with his feet, not his arm.

Ashton Cobb is a sorry excuse for a football player. If anyone has this game recorded then watch the play's when he comes up on the Vandy QB. Its almost like he's scared to miss the tackle so he opts to just fall down.

are you serious? He had plenty of time to not make the hit...take off the blinders.

I think YOU are wrong, but that doesn't make it a fact. It is just an opinion, and yours is not obviously correct just because you THINK it is. That is why it is discussed. Maybe you have blinders on. Maybe not.

I'm a UK fan and thought it was the correct call....there are no blinders involved on my part.

Same here and I thought it was a bad call. Move on and let people have opinions. That is what makes this site so good. Go Cats.:thumb:

I think being so young in key positions on the offensive side of the ball has everything to do with that. Coach Brooks and the Wildcats have already exceeded most peoples expectations this year. I'm thrilled with the season they are having despite those tough losses.

I agree on it being a successful season. A win at UT would top it off. That would be a 7-5 season with wins over 2 biggest rivals, Louisville and Tennessee, a 3 point loss to the #1 team in the country, with all their losses coming to teams either currently or previously ranked in the top 25. Not bad when looking at all they lost offensively from last year and losing their best receiver(only real threat) this year. Things could have went better minus some inexcuseable mistakes, but overall, I'll take it and look forward to better and bigger things next year!!:thumb:

Well put..I 2nd that;)

I know I've never been to a game with two roughing the kicker calls, luckily they didn't break the Guiness book record on the 3rd that was nullified. The Cats lost this game in the first half, looking at the stats, 290-50 at the half, amazing they even had a chance. The roughing the passer call was correct in my eyes, the defender hit helmet to helmet, and that was a very cruicial play. I can't think of another QB that also returns punts.....ever. Cobb is one heck of an athlete, but with what he has to work with, he is IT, he either can't complete the pass or his Wr's can't make a play. No running game to speak of, a bowl will be nice, but I can't wait until Newton is tossing the ball to Cobb in '09.
