Idk about that. I mean he has also drove them down the field both times at the end of games. But he just usually ends up making a typical freshman mistake. Today's interception was not that bad IMO, that guy just made a great play on it.

I think the exact opposite. I don't think he thinks enough at times. I believe he locks in the receive way too much, and has his mind made up who is going to throw to before the ball is even snapped.

 

See, I think that to be more of thinking too much than not enough... He's going in with his mind made up and that thought is going through his head the whole time. He's not looking for the other receivers, he's locked in and he knows what he wants.

When officials are told to protect the QB prior to the season then it's the correct call. If this was Lousiville or even Vandy that the flag went against, you would see what everyone else is seeing. Micah had plenty of time to pull up. Take off the blinders....

 

Take off the blinders? Ask around, I actually am not like most on here, and dont where blinders. If the team I root for screws up, I will say it. However that was just a bad call. That hit he put on him was not a hit that was going to hurt a QB. I understand refs have been told to protect the QB, and I said. If he hit him in the head, speared him to the ground, or hit him low in his legs. Then I would have definitely agreed with the call, because that would be protecting the QB. A call like that is making football a pansy game, because I hope you all realize, that a QB is a football player. That means they are aloud to get here, and as long as its nothing violent or could hurt the QB, then there should be no flag. That hit was not a bad hit at all, we see QB's get hit like that all the time after they throw the ball. So yeah they usually don't call that hit, that we saw a penalty. So that would make it a bad call...So yeah no blinders here at all, just saying how it is.

I think it was obvious that the DB wanted the ball much more than the receiver on that last offensive play for the Wildcats.

 

Definitely. If the receiver would have atleast tried for the ball more, then it would have been atleast incomplete. Which still would have meant the ball game. However that pass wasn't that bad, just the DB wanted it more.

So hitting a guy two steps out of bounds is okay? Because it's really the same thing in this situation. Micah had plenty of time to not make contact with the QB but chose to anyway. That is why there was a flag not of him going high. It was a late hit.

As soon as the QB releases the ball the official will usually yell something like ball out, ball released, something like that, to let the defensive players know they need to pull up, and lay off the QB. Johnson had the time to pull up, and not hit the QB. He was late, and the call was correct.

Putting that penalty to the side, UK shot themselves in the foot plenty of other times. If they don't rough the punter every possible opportunity, we probably never even get into that situation. Correct call or incorrect call, it is what it is.

He definitely let up some, if he went all out then he would have destroyed the guy. Remember the guy was rolling out that way, so just even a little hit like Micah put on him, would send him flying. Which would make it look worst than it really was on the hit. As I said in a previous post, in the amount of time he released the ball, and when Micah hit him, is about the same as we always see, and they dont get called. Its a matter of him rolling out and his momentum making him go even further when hit, which made it seem worst. Even though it was the same as basically any other hit after a QB throws the ball. So it was just a bad call, its simple as that IMO.

I think being so young in key positions on the offensive side of the ball has everything to do with that. Coach Brooks and the Wildcats have already exceeded most peoples expectations this year. I'm thrilled with the season they are having despite those tough losses.
