Seriously? I haven't been married in 15 years, but your deduction was always bigger for married vs single I thought? Plus car insurance rates are cheaper if married too. Supposedly you are more responsible. I guess they don't look at the fact that 50% cheat on spouses, which isn't very responsible.

I don't think a lot of people realize that if you work a minimum wage job that you fall in the "poverty" category. Same is true for most seasonal workers that earn more than minimum wage.

I was the father of two abortion babies back when I was a young pup. Wasn't told about the first, and when told about the second my wish to keep the child was ignored. Same girl, and an awful relationship.

You are definitely right as far as insurance goes but their are tax penalties for being married I'll try and get more exact in that tomorrow but I'll have to pull my tax book out and find the information because I don't remember all of it other than married couples paying more.

If any of you have facebook you can already see the division going on with people's status. I know that might be something for the younger generation, but it's crazy.

With the economy the way it is today, there are many middle class people with good jobs that are a mere 2 mortgage payments away from homeless. Even more that do not realize it.

This is very true. I have 2 friends who have worked their entire lives (one was 8 years away from full retirement), who lost their jobs. Both are close to losing their homes. No one would ever have predicted either one of them would be in this situation.

 

Economically, this is the worst I have seen things in my lifetime.

 

It will be interesting to see how this "Robin Hood" thing works for Obama. I would bet that the majority of the House and Senate are all very wealthy people. Will they be willing to "share the wealth"?
