You obviously haven't let it go or it wouldn't be a topic in this thread.

The point I was making is that the reason a lot of Democrats didn't give Bush a chance was because of the way Florida (and the election) was decided.

Personally, I wanted some type of controversy to arise tonight because I was going to refer to Obama as President Fraud Obama. Now I don't even have that pleasure (unless of course he ends up backing off his campaign pledges).

As I said, the people who knew Gore the best, his constituents in Tennessee, dealt him the defeat. Every recount showed that Bush won a narrow victory in Florida.

MANY democrats gave President Bush a chance and supported him. You may want to criticize Obama from minute one, which is your right, but don't use the excuse that "the Dems" didn't give Bush a chance. Plenty of us did.

I was less than thrilled about how the 2000 election played out, but this is a valid point. Had Gore carried Tennessee, the issue would have been moot.

Agreed. What has always been forgotten in the whole Bush/Gore/Florida debacle is the fact that Gore lost Tennessee (his state) and Arkansas (Clinton). If he wins one, Florida doesn't matter.

You guys saying the Supreme Court decided the 2000 election REALLY need to go back and do a bit of research. Time has either clouded your memory OR perhaps you were too young to actually remember that night. And that's about all I have to say about that subject.

My support and how I conduct myself matters to me, regardless of what anyone else thinks. Come on, All Tell, rise above those that didn't do right by Bush (and the US) the first time. Be better then them, not meeting them on their same level.

Nixon and his supporters handled the loss with much more class in 1960 than Gore did in 2000.
