This one won't be decided by the Supreme Court ... that alone makes it more legitimate.

Such as what? That fact that he lost the popular vote? Doesn't play any role in the election. The fact that the liberal media rushed to judgement and called Florida for Gore before there was any indication that he had won? Give me a break.

Weak. That one was only decided by the Supreme court because some could accept the fact they lost. If McCain took this one to court would it make it any less legit.

You know what really irked me about our electoral college system tonight? [And I know it has it's benefits, don't get me wrong]. The minute the polls closed in places such as Hawaii and Alaska, it was announced that Obama took Cali and he would be the 44th President of the United States. Before any of the states could even get their votes in, he had already won. It is like they did not even matter.

That's because they didn't matter. Truth be known, there are only a handful of states that do matter.

And exactly the same thing could have been said in 2000 and 2004.

 

How many Dems on here can honestly (and I mean really honestly) can say that gave Bush a chance?

 

How many don't still hold a resentment that they think the election was stolen from them?

 

I wasn't old enough to vote in 2000, and I don't really recall my feelings after that election, but there is a lot of reason for them to think that election was potentially stolen. It was very close and a lot of shady stuff happened :lol:.

Right or wrong, many will see President Bush's victory as an appointment rather than an election.

First of all... This isn't Bush. This election wasn't Bush vs. Gore or Kerry. Second of all, I'd say MOST registered dems that I knew totally supported Bush when he became President. They may not have been happy, but the real complaints didn't start to come out until he declared war on Iraq when he should've focused on general terrorist cells, and then when he started making gay marriage the focus when his war on Iraq wasn't going as planned, and so on and so forth.

 

I am a moderate. I'm happy for Obama, and I would've been happy for McCain. I'm also happy that Bush is out of office. If Obama makes mistakes, I won't be afraid to call him out on them, but I'm also not going to jump to conclusions like many did when Bush started screwing up (it was when his screw-ups became a repeating habit that my dislike became fully developed).

lol, I know that in all actuality they do not matter. Kentucky really does not matter. There are a few states that do and that is about it. But before they even got their votes in it was over. It just irked me. If I were a resident of one of those states I'd feel like my vote really didn't even mean a thing when the whole schpeel about "Your vote counts" is brought up.
