I would like hear the opinions of the people who thinks Madison Central will win.

Trick or Treat is 6:00 - 8:00 PM in Ft. Thomas (I think). Crowd may be late-arriving, but heavily "sugared-up" and maybe a few costumes as well.

 

P.S. As for the game, could be SCARY :scared:for Madison Central.

Highlands 35-14.

My scouting report says that MC has some exceptional speed in their O back field and a big and talented O line (including of course the Warford kid who is going to UK on a scholly). They should provide a nice test for the Highlands D this week. I haven't heard much about their D but they shut out Mercer, Madison Southern and Oldham County. They gave up 25 to Tates Creek but since MC scored 49, I'm wondering if TC scored a bunch late against the MC JV. George Rogers Clark scored 35 against them, but same question as to TC's points. Scott Co. did score 24 against them in Scott County's victory. Dunbar and Shelby Co only scored 6 each against MC. Bottom line, I'm guessing MC had a pretty good defense. I doubt they've played an Offense as potent as Highlands yet this year though. I'm expecting a really good game this Friday.

 

I do want to add that when we visited MC last year, their folks were some of the nicest and most accomodating people we've ever dealt with. Just super nice in helping us get our fan buses close to the field and team buses. Their AD came out and chatted for 15 minutes as did their principal ( a lady whose name I can't recall, but very nice). Hope the MC fans attending the game have a safe trip to and fro the game and have a nice time at the game (well not too nice if you know what I mean). All parking is street parking but there are plenty of side streets near by.

MC has a deep backfield with tons of speed and a big Oline, the passing game is average at best IMO. Their defense is more of what I would call a bend-but-don't-break type that will get eaten up by grind it out teams but forces timely turnovers. I would say this team is very comparable to the past 3 teams MC has fielded other than 2 things: 1. the trio of Shane King, Isiah Kavanaugh, and Keyshawn Simpson is a little better overall then previous backfields and 2. the linebackers are a little bigger and more physical since the 2003 team.

 

I am not sure this will be a close game, but it will give the Birds a team that is probably as talented as any in 5A. This game (and the Boone County game next week) will give MC a measuring stick before the playoffs start, I am not sure they have a true identity yet as to where they fall after #1 and #2...

Who are these people that pick against Highlands every week? Seriously unless they are playing X or Trinity, they are not going to have a game within 30 points the rest of the year.

Finally it's game week!

Looking forward to this game. MC-Indians(6A) should bring a good game with D1 recruit Warford, OG, 6'-4", 350lbs and a speedy backfield. And both teams bring strong playoff-bound defenses, both recording only 1-loss this season. Sorry, no helicopter rides like last year.

Perhaps Highlands can return the hospitality and open up that big unused parking lot across the street from the school. Heck, I even heard that the Principal is in that lot on Friday game nites.

Does Highlands do any tailgating in that lot?

The entire backfield..Keyshawn Simpson, Isaiah Kavanaugh and Shane King. All are very tough runners, with Kavanaugh being the faster of the bunch.
