September 24, 200818 yr The New York Giants will not have the services of their most electrifying offensive weapon when they play Seattle after their bye week. WR Plaxico Burress will miss the game, not because of injury, but rather insubordination. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8601112/Star-wideout-skipped-practice,-ignored-calls?MSNHPHMA
September 24, 200818 yr The star wideout, who was just rewarded with a new lucrative contract three weeks ago, was slated to meet with team officials early this morning to explain why he would've violated team rules and failed to return several phone calls explaining his whereabouts. ***We will wait to hear what he says, but if it was nothing serious, what a great way to repay the team for giving you the contract you wanted.
September 24, 200818 yr I don't blame Coughlin at all. As a matter of fact, I just gained even more respect for him. I don't know if they will or not but the Giant players should get this guy aside and have a "discussion" :irked: lets call it to the tune of ...."we are the Super Bowl Champion NYG's. We don't pull this kind of crap and you had best get you act together bc right now you are the only one in favor of you!" The thing is, this has certainly not been the first egotisical jerk that has thought that he was above the team and it certainly won't be the last . Just another example of why I prefer the college game far over the NFL. That goes for all college sports vs. all pro sports.
September 24, 200818 yr Author He's just an all around swell guy. Remember this one? And isn't he married with a one year old? It seemed that Burress was upset Wednesday night because "no women were paying any attention to him." The worst offense? "He didn't even tip his cocktail waitress," said a source, who noted that Burress and his crew "were obviously on the prowl." At one point, said the witness, Plaxico "got up from his VIP table and approached a group of girls at the bar." http://www.fanhouse.com/2007/05/20/giants-burress-walks-out-on-2-000-tab
September 24, 200818 yr Same problem with NY as he had in P'burgh. He thinks he's bigger than the game. Frankly, in 10 yrs. few will be able to recall him in the event he becomes a trivia answer.
September 24, 200818 yr I think the Giants will be fine without him for 1 game. They're certainly capable of winning without him. Especially for just one game...it might be more of a problem if he were out for an extended time. The game vs. Seattle won't be an easy one. The Seahawks will be coming off a bye and are starting to get healthy...Engram and Branch are expected back, so they might actually have a passing attack.
September 24, 200818 yr Just another typical big headed NFL punk. Nothing like a "team player". I wouldn't be so quick to judge. I read on another site that he has had some recent troubles in his personal life. I'm sure the suspension came for good reason, but Plaxico is far from a "NFL Punk".

The Giants are coming off a bye too, and it will give them time to get healthy on defense (i.e Mathias Kiwanuka will heal up). One good thing out of this is we might now get to see Mario Manningham in action.

I realize everyone has personal problems that come up in their life, but a simple phone call to his boss would have taken care of this problem.
