Plaxico Burress Suspended by Giants

Featured Replies

I heard it on the radio from either one of the NY radio guys or Peter King. They were totally suprised because they thought Plax was doing great in the lockerrom but said they talked to Coach last year and he talked about how Mike was a buffer between them when Caughlin needed to get him in line. Makes sense IMO.

I have never read that in any of the blogs by Vacchiano, T-Rock or Garafalo...and they get about any kind of information on the G-Men.

Plus, I'm not questioning you here, but I seriously doubt Tom Coughlin would say something like that on the radio or to a radio host, because he knows better than to cause problems in his own locker room. And saying that he needed Strahan to keep Plaxico in line would probably cause problems.

^ I'm hoping that this is not a threadjack. I was listening to Cincinnati sports talk radio a couple of days ago. The phrase "Marvin has lost the locker room" came up.

I wish I could remember who was talking about this - it was a former Bengal. He said that it's not the head coach's locker room to have - it's the locker room of the leaders on the team. His point was that the Bengals now lacked "locker room leadership" from the players that it once had.

 You really want this to be more than it is don't you?

The Giants have a very strong locker room. Things like this won't change that. I'm sure in Burress' and Coughlins opinions this is over. Being in New York though, the media will not quite let it before just yet. By week 10 this will be long forgotten.

What the hell are you talking about? I actually think it's funny that the final straw was Burress taking his son to school. That's ridiculous. Nice try though...:thumb:

I'm not sure what you are talking about...I wasn't trying anything.

This is much ado about nothing. Burress got fined, sat out a game, and he'll be back catching TD's against the Brownies on MNF next week. I'm sure he'll have a little extra motivation to play better now...

Solomon Wilcots. I didn't remember, I heard it referenced on one of the Cincy sports talk shows yesterday.

By the way, Mike and Mike are BLASTING Plaxico this morning. They seem to take a lot of pleasure in the fact that the Giants won so easily without him on Sunday.

Not trying to be argumentative here HB, but Plax is an idiot, plain and simple. Here's a recent article you may enjoy. You say much ado about nothing, I say idiot and sorry teammate.

And I say you have no clue what you are talking about.

Ask his teammates and former teammates if he's a "sorry teammate". Ask them if he was a sorry teammate during last years super bowl run, when he was playing through injuries that would have kept normal people out.

He has a problem with some rules. I admit that it's not a good thing for the team, but is this hurting the team enough to be a big deal? No. This is being blown out of proportion.

^If it were a player on any other team you'd be singing a different tune....

I do have a clue. You won't find another person on this board who follows the Steelers closer than I do and he was a putz when he was in Pittsburgh. Perhaps you don't hear about his shortcomings and how much his teammates think he's a jerk because he's on a team where his head coach rules with an iron fist and his teammates have class and realize that he can only be a distraction, similar to another WR distraction in their division. Frankly, your blind naivity and loyalty to this jerk is more than tired. Enjoy him.

Mike and Mike were really raking him over the coals this morning for his actions. He's a terrible teammate. They played several audio clips of a recent interview with him.

FWIW, I was agreeing with you....
