I remember hearing Hines talk good about Plax after he left. And Roethlisberger was begging for the Steelers to re-sign him if I'm not mistaken.

Absolutely not true. Hines basically said that if he doesn't want to be here, we don't need him. At the time, Ben didn't know his receivers, let alone beg for a malcontent to return. Plax wanted out because Cowher recommitted to the run, plain and simple.

I do not believe that what he did was a good thing for the team. I have said that. It was stupid and he should have called the Giants to explain to them why he couldn't make it in.

 

However, I don't think it's as big of a deal as people here, and the media are making it.

 

He said himself he let his teammates down. That doesn't make him a jerk, or a terrible teammate IMO.

So if his current teammates not calling him a terrible teammate is criteria for classifying him as a good teammate, doesn't that mean that TO is a good teammate as well? I mean, has anyone ever heard a current Cowboy say TO wasn't a good teammate?

Couldn't he drop his kid off then go to practice? How does droping your kid off at school/daycare take all day?

T.O. is obviously a good teammate because you never hear of his football peers complaining about it. He's just over dramatic.

I don't think he missed a practice. I think he missed a meeting or a work out.

I remember Hines saying good and bad things about him and Ben was coming off a rookie year, so he was too wet behind the ears to have much of an opinion. Pitt made very little effort to sign him, because he was considered a negative in the locker room. He had the same issues at Michigan State, with that said he is very talented...
