September 24, 200817 yr If He needs a new PR guy maybe he should consider you HB! I'd do it for free!
September 24, 200817 yr Plexiglas will be losing $235,000. He will only be sitting out 1 game. The other week is a bye. Quote from Eli: "Hopefully he learns his lesson." 2005 - benched for a quarter for missing 2 meetings. 2006 - fined for taking his wife to an ultrasound. 2008 - Earlier this season, he refused to practice due to contract issues. He has also been fined for wearing his socks to high and not being 5 minutes early to a meeting when he was supposed to. Ane he was fined while in Pitt because he said Cowher shouldn't have had practice on Mothers Day. That's a non-issue in today's NFL...just part of the business.
September 24, 200817 yr Might be true, but you have no evidence to prove that what he is saying is false. Burress, according to every report I've read, was very disapointed when he was told about the suspension. Apparently he informed the team Monday night what was going on...he tried to tell them what happened and there was a communication problem. Apparently the Giants felt the need to issue a suspension. I have no problem with either side. I honestly think it's being blown way out of proportion. Coughlin is a pretty strict coach...this probably wouldn't have happened if he were on a different team (like the Bengals, or Cowboys). Never said I did. If all the things I stated in post #22 hadn't happened then he wouldn't even be suspended IMO. Like Sheli said, "Hopefully he learns his lesson. :thumb:

And I don't know how much "proportion" is too much, but I'd say sitting your best wideout a week after OT with arguably the worst team in football is pretty good "proportion".
September 24, 200817 yr I needed an agent when I was in high school. Quote from Drew Roseyhouse on behalf of teenage spindoc; "Spindoc regrets his actions. He was indeed out past his father's curfew and is very contrite. There was obviously a communication breakdown. His aim is to be a stand-up guy and will not only apologize but will accept any punishment deemed necessary, however regretable."
September 24, 200817 yr Tried to tell them what happened and there was a communication problem? You honestly believe that?
September 24, 200817 yr I wouldn't be so quick to judge. I read on another site that he has had some recent troubles in his personal life. I'm sure the suspension came for good reason, but Plaxico is far from a "NFL Punk".Say's the #1 Giant fan on the board.

September 25, 200817 yr Losing Mike Strahan hurts when dealing with Plax. They said last year anytime Coughlin needed to get on him he went to Mike. Mike would tell him to get his head out of his rear and what to do. The Giants don't have that buffer with him now. I thought it was pretty funny the Giants suspended him 2 weeks (1 of them just happens to be a bye). I don't think it will hurt them too bad because they are really deep at WR. I look for Moss to get more plays and Steve Smith to show up. I do think it's a major blow if he were gone for the season but not 1 game. What a putz!

I'm not sure where you read that, because I've never seen it. Do you have a link so I could read it? Plax was not a problem last season. But if Coughlin needs to get something done with a player, my guess is he'd use the Leadership council he created last season, not one player all the time.
September 25, 200817 yr I think he's one heck of a player but this type of stuff isn't good for the team, at least they will make him pay the price of 235K, that should sting a little bit. I still think the greatest Burress hightlight was the spike after making a catch for Pittsburgh. Problem was, he was never touched and it was recovered by the defense.

I heard it on the radio from either one of the NY radio guys or Peter King. They were totally suprised because they thought Plax was doing great in the lockerrom but said they talked to Coach last year and he talked about how Mike was a buffer between them when Caughlin needed to get him in line. Makes sense IMO.
