Plaxico Burress Suspended by Giants

Featured Replies

I remember Hines saying good and bad things about him and Ben was coming off a rookie year, so he was too wet behind the ears to have much of an opinion. Pitt made very little effort to sign him, because he was considered a negative in the locker room. He had the same issues at Michigan State, with that said he is very talented...

Wouldn't you agree that he must not be considered a negative in the Giants locker room, since they just gave him a big new contract?

You will struggle to find anyone here to see your side HB. It's okay!

I don't think he missed a practice. I think he missed a meeting or a work out.

It was my understanding that he did not show up at all on Monday. Practice, meeting, workout, whatever it was, does it really take all day to drop you kid off?

We are on fall break at the school I coach at. We stressed to the kids that this is a HUGE week and EVERYBODY needs to be at practice. We had 1 kid (starting tailback) that didn't show up. He came the next day and said he had to work all day. The biggest issue was that he didn't call the coach to let him know so now he's not starting this week. He is a high school SR. Plax is a highly paid NFL player! Their mentality is the same which is a shame. I don't think Plax is an awful teammate in fact he proved a lot to me in the Super Bowl last year. I do think he feels like he is entitled. He is bigger than the rules. I don't think he is a role model for a teammate and it ticks me off when guys like him thank rules don't count toward them. We don't know the whole story and if it was family then I would cut him some slack but he was wrong for not at least calling. I think he knows that and won't make the same mistake again. I do think he feels like he is above the rules though.

What I was saying is that I do not believe they practiced on Monday. I understand that he missed the entire day, but it was not practice. The Giants don't practice until Wednesdays I believe.
