^If it were a player on any other team you'd be singing a different tune....

You are wrong.

I do have a clue. You won't find another person on this board who follows the Steelers closer than I do and he was a putz when he was in Pittsburgh. Perhaps you don't hear about his shortcomings and how much his teammates think he's a jerk because he's on a team where his head coach rules with an iron fist and his teammates have class and realize that he can only be a distraction, similar to another WR distraction in their division. Frankly, your blind naivity and loyalty to this jerk is more than tired. Enjoy him.

There might be a few players on the team that do not like Plaxico. I know Strahan liked him when he played because I believe he said it in his book. I'm pretty sure Eli likes him. I can not think of one player who has said anything bad about Plax.

Blind naivety? What has he done to cause big problems in New York? Nothing. If you can prove that he has been a "jerk" in New York, I'll change my opinion. Show me something...a few fines and a suspension does not warrant calling him a jerk IMO. He's been great for the Giants...and without him last year they aren't super bowl champions.

Mike and Mike were really raking him over the coals this morning for his actions. He's a terrible teammate. They played several audio clips of a recent interview with him.

I love how people on this board think they know enough to justify calling him a "terrible teammate". Have any of his current teammates said that? Coaches? Just because Mike and Mike say it doesn't mean it's true.

And btw, the Giants, while they have a strong locker room, are in NEW YORK. If someone says something bad about another player, it usually makes it's way to the news "anonymously".

Of course halfback20 on this board saying he's a good teammate is what we are supposed to believe. Have you heard the audio clips that Mike and Mike played this morning? Hearing those are enough for me to justify calling him a terrible teammate.

I've read the transcript of his interview. I don't have a problem with anything he said. He did his time, paid his fine...he doesn't have to be sorry.

I'm not saying that I know he's a good teammate personally. I'm saying other TEAMMATES have said it. I'd think they would know a little better than Mike and Mike .

Comments he made in Pittsburgh didn't come out until he was out of P'burgh. Because he was a teammate and it made no sense to air your laundry about a teammate. However, after he was gone, Ward and others were asked about Plax, and without saying he was a jerk, they basically said he was a jerk. Hey man, I admire your Giant loyalty. Whatever you think is golden.:thumb:

Where did you read the trascript? Please post the link to where you read it so everyone else can see it. I'm sure everyone will agree after reading his comments what kind of teammate he is.

So, you don't see his actions as letting his teammates down at all?

I remember hearing Hines talk good about Plax after he left. And Roethlisberger was begging for the Steelers to re-sign him if I'm not mistaken.

I do not believe that what he did was a good thing for the team. I have said that. It was stupid and he should have called the Giants to explain to them why he couldn't make it in.

However, I don't think it's as big of a deal as people here, and the media are making it.

He said himself he let his teammates down. That doesn't make him a jerk, or a terrible teammate IMO.

From 2006

"It's a shame, because Plaxico is a great player and a good guy to be around, but at the same time you're judged by your actions on the field and you can't give up, you can't quit, because you're not quitting on yourself, you're quitting on us," Strahan said Monday on his weekly WFAN appearance. "We work too hard all together to have that type of stuff happen, and Plaxico is one of the guys who works hard.

"I don't quite understand what his motivation is, or what his lack of motivation is in those type of situations. I'm pretty sure I'm going to try to see what it is and try to see if I can talk to him about it.

From this week

"Will I make the same decision? Yes," Burress said. "Will I handle the situation a little better? Yes, I'll put in a phone call."

Burress had plenty of other things to say, too:

"I'm not concerned about being a team leader."

What the hell are you talking about? I actually think it's funny that the final straw was Burress taking his son to school. That's ridiculous. Nice try though...:thumb:

His kid is one. How many kids start school at one?
