Anybody getting any wind?

On a lighter note, yesterday when our power was out my kids kept forgetting and trying to turn things on. When it came back on, almost every light switch in my house was on. I had to go all through my house turning lights off. Even the closets and linen closets were on!

I'm really sorry for all you guys--I hope you get it back on, soon.

I am in Ft. Thomas, the North end and no power still. Our neighborhood back off Covert Run looks like a disaster zone. 100 yr old trees snapped in half in the area, debri everywhere. No Power really stinks. We got home from the Bengals Debacle yesterday at 3pm and there was no power so we are going on 18 hrs without. I have never been so bored in my life as I was last night. Listened to my son's Ipod fo 2 hrs and cleaned up debris. Read books to my 2 yr old in candlelight. No INternet, No TV......Jonesin bad. It is sad how dependent we are on technonlogy and power.

I can only imagine when the power does come back on...how much stuff will come one.:laugh::laugh: What's even funnier is I am still walking into rooms flipping the light switches.:laugh:

I am thankful that it is not hot and humid right now.

Bellarmine, Spalding and all the high schools in town have cancelled class today... but not UofL. So here I sit in the library, not having read for class since it was a little too dark last night.

The Highlands neighborhood is a mess. I know Rockmom lives close by so I'm sure she's in the same boat I am. The trees took down power lines all over the place. Governor Beshear just said on the radio that there are about 550,000 without power across the Commonwealth, making it the largest outage in state history.

It was also nice to hear the chief of police tell people that it's best to stay in their homes as I'm on my way to UofL so I don't miss my morning class. Thanks a lot, Lousyville.

I agree on a lighter note. I read this and started laughing b/c this happened to us. My son kept turning all the lights on b/c he forgot. Well the power came on, and I hear him say, mom someone just turned all of our lights on lol. I had to go through the whole house and turn them off. It was funny. I am glad its cool today b/c at least people that don't have power can open their windows, and its not hot out.

I went and stayed with a friend last night, however before I left the house I must've walked in the bathroom and turned the light switch, only to be left in the dark after shutting the door ATLEAST 4 or 5 times.:irked:

No power last night. However we did play games with our kids by candlelight. They also talked a lot more. I think the electricity should go out for an evening about once a month.

That's funny that you said this, b/c I called my parents last night to check on them b/c they didn't have power when it was dark. Well I have a 14 year old sister, so she is usually gone, or in her room when there is electricity. Well they said she was sitting downstairs with them and actually talking and socializing. Which is wonderful to have when they are teenagers. Well I called them back at about 9:30 to let them know that Boone county schools were closed, and they turn around to tell my sister, and all the sudden she is making plans with friends who live down the street to go to their house lol. She was only sitting there b/c she new she had too HAHAHA

Does NKU have power again yet?

Does NKU have power again yet?

I just tried to call my brother in law to ask him but couldn't hear me. Isn't NKU closed today?

So far, a half million of the 927,000 Duke customers that lost power are still out. Just to clarify for the lady on WLW who said that the south end of town has power..we DO NOT! Only a tiny part of town past Woodfill School has power. Someone mentioned Rockmom. She is okay and does have power.

I have been calling family on their cell phones b/c they have no power, and the lines are busy b/c everyone is trying to call out. Its crazy.

Yes NKU is closed today, I'm making a push for tomorrow as well!!! But I doubt that'll happen.

She must live on the only block in the Highlands with power. I drove home down Bardstown Road last night with all the lights out everywhere and it was a very surreal experience.

But the lights are on at school and so here I sit. I wonder if they'll regret opening the doors when they find me shaving in the restroom tomorrow?
