September 14, 200818 yr A lot of us called this beating on the prediction thread. No surprise here. tOSU will still win their share of games and wouldn't surprise me if they won the Big 10. As for USC, it's only the 2nd game of the season, but they stay focused, they could beat everyone on their schedule like this. I agree. Wisconsin, Penn State, and Illinois could give them fits. USC should run the table and play in the title game. Oregon looks to be the only team to me who could challenge them in the Pac 10. Maybe Zona State.
September 14, 200818 yr Author The play of the game was TD reception by Robiskie that got called back by a hold.......not saying USC wouldn't have rolled, but that would have made it 14-10 and made it interesting... That may have been, the penalties hurt the Buckeyes as well tonight. That may had made a difference but as I said with the way OSU was dominated on te lines I don't know. September 14, 200818 yr Several thoughts occurring to me: 1. USC is awesome when Pete Carroll has two weeks or more to prepare for a big game; 2. USC never seems to be fazed by hype or anxiety. Their practices out there are media circuses and I think it actually helps them; 3. When the most hyped player ever to come to play QB at Arkansas transfers so he can be third-string at USC, you know that QB at USC is the fabled catbird seat; 4. Just looking at the USC cheerleaders should be enough to get everyone to vote for Cindy McCain's husband; 5. I love that Sanchez is well-spoken. I love that his dad is a firefighter. I love that he tried to block James Lauranaitis. I love the frozen ropes he throws; 6. Rey Maulauga scares me. Brian Cushing is the best linebacker they have; 7. USC has always struggled with athletic QB's who can run. They struggled in the title game with Vince Young. They struggled in conference last year against Oregon's Dennis Dixon. They struggled a little with Pryor tonight. I think they would punish Sam Bradford or Matthew Stafford, but might struggle with Tim Tebow; 8. USC is fun to watch. Downfield throws. Slashing runners. Swarming, bat-out-of-Hades defense. FIGHT ON!

September 14, 200818 yr Terrible... Put Pryor in or don't I really don't care, but OSU is goin nowhere fast with Boeckman.
September 14, 200818 yr I dont know f I like this score or not. Either means that USC is that good and its going to be hard to beat them in a championship game or OSU is that bad and this is a good thing.

September 14, 200818 yr What makes this game so bad for OSU is that I don't think they can even be considered for a National Championship appearence if they run table now after that bad of a beating, even if USC loses one game. It will be hard for the voters to rank OSU in the top 3, even at the end of the season IMO.
September 14, 200818 yr The play of the game was TD reception by Robiskie that got called back by a hold.......not saying USC wouldn't have rolled, but that would have made it 14-10 and made it interesting...Big penalty right before that too.
September 14, 200818 yr One can only hope we won't have to hear the "Ohio State" and "BCS title game" in the same sentence again all season, unless of course it is about teams that won't be there!
September 14, 200818 yr I say that as long as Tressel and staff is here the Buckeyes will NEVER win another big game. No MICHIGAN IS NO LONGER A BIG GAME.
September 14, 200818 yr OSU is a national power every year and has tradition unlike any other school in the nation. Let's remember they did win the national championship in 2002 and that made there 7th National Championship over all. I understand that some don't like OSU, but you have to give credit where credit is due and that is that Ohio State is going to be contending for a national championship year in and year out if you like it or not. Not many schools can say that! As a matter of fact Ohio State is the only team to have been in the national championship game 3 times in the last 6 years, and they will be back again. GO BUCKS!

And most will say that the only reason the Bucks were in last year was the weak schedule. As to tradition unlike any school in the nation, well I'm sure OU, Texas, and USC are probably not going to bow down to that tradition any day soon.

Of course the fact that the Guard tackled the D Lineman after he had a straight shot to the QB had nothing to do with it. Had the Guard not held, it looked to me like it would have been a sack rather than a TD pass called back.
