Wasn't off by much, Big Ten= Currently OVER RATED. Prestige is earning them rankings that their play against GOOD non conference oppoents can't support.

OSU is a national power every year and has tradition unlike any other school in the nation. Let's remember they did win the national championship in 2002 and that made there 7th National Championship over all. I understand that some don't like OSU, but you have to give credit where credit is due and that is that Ohio State is going to be contending for a national championship year in and year out if you like it or not. Not many schools can say that! As a matter of fact Ohio State is the only team to have been in the national championship game 3 times in the last 6 years, and they will be back again. GO BUCKS!

I am beginning to come around that OSU gets in these title games because of weak conference play, and that the SEC and possibly even Big 12 powers are kept out because they lose once or twice in brutal conference play. USC may very well be much like OSU, but the difference is that USC can play with the big dogs and OSU can't.

I agree. Wisconsin, Penn State, and Illinois could give them fits.

 

USC should run the table and play in the title game. Oregon looks to be the only team to me who could challenge them in the Pac 10. Maybe Zona State.

:thumb: Alll three of those wil give the Buckeyes fits and if they have play on the line like they did last night then those teams will beat the Buckeyes as well. I am probably more worried about Penn State than I am the others. I look for Tressel to get things back on track though and run the table for another Big10 Championship and BCS bowl.

I don't think that speed was the factor as much as some may think. USC's "O" and "D" lines controlled the line of scrimmage, that imo was the deciding factor of the game.

OSU has plenty of speed, they couldn't get it loose bc the line play allowed USC's defense to stop things before they got started. Same on defense, OSU was blown of the ball bad and imo that was a deciding factor on that side of the ball as well.

I couldn't disagree more with this statement. OSU basher's are having a ball with this one, that is fine and I cannot say a thing about it but to say that Tressel will never win another big game and that Michigan Is no longer a big game is imo ridiculous.

Mich/OSU will always be a big game no matter the record or ratngs. Like Bama/Auburn, Texas/Okla., USC/UCLA, UGA/UF, etc., etc.. more often than not the OSU/Mich game decides the Big 10 Championship and a BCS bow bid so yes, it is a stll a big game.

There skill positions are just as fast as any team in the nation, but what kills most teams, is they can't compete with the speed up front. The SEC and USC always seem to have the fastest lines, and that is a huge advantage.

The challenge now, for Ohio State, is to find a way to re-group.

 

The psyche of their core veterans, particularly those guys who passed

on the NFL to come back for 'BCS redemption', has to be a little fragile,

after three 'big game' whoopings (Florida; LSU; and USC).

 

The coaching staff, which also should be under the microscope, must

dig pretty deep to re-organize the trainwreck that is their team right now.

 

Long-term, a nation full of college prospects have to wonder "Do I want

to play for a program that seems to be on display for humiliation by

big-time programs every year?" I would think competing college recruiters

will be using that mindset vs. Ohio State on a regular basis.

I agree. Penn States offense is pretty scary. Ohio State has a lot of work to do if they want to win another Big 10 title and play in another BCS game.
