September 14, 200818 yr Your not going to see UL in the championship game either.....Oh..... thats right, you never have seen them in a championship game and imo never will. :thumb: I'm a fan of the Louisville Cardinals and then college football. The last thing I want to do is waste three hours watching the NC game because your team laid ANOTHER egg...
September 14, 200818 yr Author Ohio State has a lot of work to do if they want to win another Big 10 title and play in another BCS game. :thumb: Wisconsin is very touugh as well and imo Tressel will get things straightened up and take another conference title. Probably and imo the mind set of the players will be the biggest challenge right now. OSU has the talent, they have to get this one out of their heads to continue on for a good season.
September 14, 200818 yr Author I'm a fan of the Louisville Cardinals and then college football. The last thing I want to do is waste three hours watching the NC game because your team laid ANOTHER egg... I am a fan of all of colege football as well wioth tOSU, U.K. my favs along with UGA and Bama that I like really well. As you said you will be a happy fan and won't have to watch the Buckeyes in the NC this year . Unless of course OSU wins out and several other teams do not take care of their own business and beat the teams that they should. I absolutely do not look for that to happen at all and I look for USC to be in the title game probably vs. Okla., UGA or Fla..:thumb:
September 14, 200818 yr I'd like to see USC and UF in the title game this year. I think this is the year of the Trojans though. We could put together an all star team and have them play USC and I'm still not sure it would be that close. They looked amazing last night.

Actually, maybe even a 3 loss team. Ohio State is not on the level of the great teams nowadays.
September 14, 200818 yr FIGHT ON! This game was not as close as the score indicated. The Trojans left some plays on the field, started cruising midway through the 3rd, and had the reserve eschelons in with 8 minutes left. I am just amazed at how the USC O-line (which graduated 4 guys) mashed the OSU d-line and linebackers. Did anybody see Sanchez try and block Lauranaitis in the 3rd? There's a QB you wanna play for. Now, if they can just avoid any egg-laying in Pac-10 play, they'll be in Miami in January. Why? USC is easily on par with the elite teams in the SEC (if not better) and that's exactly what they did to OSU. This game played out very similar to what I expected. It looked close early on, with USC gradually pulling away as it became obvious they were a far superior team, then they break the will of OSU once they realize that can't compete and it turns into a scrimmage-type show. Ohio State can't compete on the lines with the elite teams. That's a bigger problem than any speed discrepancy. In the last two BCS games and the USC game last night, Ohio State has been completely dominated on both lines.
September 14, 200818 yr USC's schedule in the PAC-10 is weak, they will be in the NC game. Also, don't forget thought, USC did lose to Stanford last year, so they laid an egg also!

USC's schedule is pretty weak. Despite that, they still proved they are 1000 times better than OSU who plays an equally if not weaker schedule. No one questions USC's schedule when they play in the big games because people know what a monster team they have. It's different with OSU. They not only play a weak schedule, but they haven't been that dominant of a team the last two or three years and the slaughterings they have taken in the last two NC games along with last night proves that. I think the average fan just want to see a good NC game. OSU has proven that they can't give us that. For me personally, I wouldn't mind seeing OSU in the NC game IF they were one of the top two teams in the nation. They haven't been the last two seasons. I'd just like to see a competitive game and OSU hasn't done that in recent years. It's time to give someone else a shot.
September 14, 200818 yr USC appears to play in a weak conference, but as stated, they can and have played and beaten the best teams out of conference as well. There is no comparison between them and OSU. For instance, USC is 4-0 versus the SEC in the last 5 years, including a 24-0 drubbing of then #1 Auburn in 2003. They do not play weak out-of-conference games, they schedule tough opponents and beat them all.

They have proven that they can compete and beat the best of the best. The same can not be said for OSU. They have proven that they are capable of running the table in their terrible conference and that's about all. As I said earlier, I think the common fan just want's a good national championship game. We as fans just want to see the two best teams in the nation battle it out. OSU hasn't been one of the two best teams in the nation for the last few years and the final score of the big games they have played in does nothing but further show that.
September 14, 200818 yr USC is a very good football team no doubt about it, but I still despise them. To me they are to college football what Duke is to college basketball. The media drools over them and just about every stinking call goes their way.
September 15, 200818 yr College football goes in cycles. I remeber not long ago, back in the 90's before Carroll came to USC, they were an average at best program. They had really gone downhill. Pete has really done a fine job and turned them around. OSU for years when Cooper was there didn't even beat Michigan, but Tressel is turning the program around and brought a National Championship back to Ohio State in 2002. It all comes down to recruting and I think that Tressel sees the importance of speed, as well as size, and that is why he went so hard after Pryor at the QB position. The game of football is changing and OSU will have to change with it to be successful. The days of primarily running the football at a major D-1 program is long gone. I believe that OSU is now beginning to recruiting the right players to make this transition.

I agree that USC will/should be in the NC game but like you said they have been like a few others in the last couple of years in that they lost to teams they were supposed to beat. I just wish they would have on Saturday. :irked::lol:
