From what I have read on BGP, it’s the Russell fans who keep interjecting themselves in these various threads about games between other teams. It’s entertaining so keep it up guys:D…but I seriously doubt you will find a single Raceland fan/player/coach who is even remotely thinking about the Raceland vs Russell game this week...there will be a time for that later in October.

Eevrytime Ive seen someone from Raceland, oh lets say, since June. The first thing out of their mouth is we are going to "whoop" (most commonly used term) "you guys" this year. So I guess that was all just my imagination running wild. Not to mention I believe most of you Raceland fans have picked against Russell in every game except the West game. Not to mention how many times Ive seen almost all of you reference we almost lost to BC, by w/e reasoning you were using.

I agree with you 100% sidelinedoc. I try explaining to them that I no longer play and have no involvement in the outcome of the games except for yelling from the stands at the refs.

No this is quite different. Although it is still in question of whether or not it will come in to play this Friday.

Can someone please pass me a valium...I don’t think my nerves can stand the suspense.

Let me throw this out there. It's only Tuesday, and this thread is about Ashland vs. Russell. We'll keep the discussion about that topic here or it will be closed.

:thumb: Plenty of time, we will start talking about that game on Oct. 25th.

As for this thread and the Ashland vs. Russell game, Does Ashland or Russell have everyone healthy? Any injuries or other situations that will be keeping any players out?

I will be looking foward to the game final thread on this one to get everyone's take on it. As for the Raceland folks, we have a little game/rivalry of our own (just as heated only on a smaller scale/schools)to concentrate on in Mossy Bottom that night. ;)

Russell has everyone healthy that I am aware of.

Can't say for Ashland, although I haven't heard anything.

I heard there is supposed to be a large amount of scouts present at the game Friday to scout some of the bigger boys. Just rumor now, anyone heard the same?

I have some reliable sources inside the Tomcat locker room that said Sam Hunter will be starting this Friday night against the Devils.

Who has the advantage in sideline reporting? :jump::D

 That's funny right there, I don't care who you are. I am staying out of that one but that is something else for them to fight and :argue:over now.:D

Now just how reliable are they?

Is there any place I can check out Ashland's stats for this season?

Would like to compare them to Russell.

I just don't know about that move, he hasn't been baptized by fire yet .He might be ready for some varsity play.I hear he can wing the ball .

(IMO)I would rather see some power sets in the backfield with all the quality running backs the Tomcats have.(wishbone, fullhouse) The Tomcats could have two running backs shoulder to shoulder blocking anything at point of attack, including o-line in the way.

Jumbo+wishbone= Jumbone ;)just(IMO)Tomcats keep it simple ,Tomcats win a close one.:thumb:

I agree wholeheartedly with the wishbone move. I was just talking to somone about this the other day. I think they should move Bonner to fullback, and go with the wishbone. :thumb:

That may or may not imrpove Ashland's chances of winning. It would also be a dirty move on the coaching staff when the kid is getting some serious looks form big schools to be a TE.

Someone probably said that the wishbone isn't something you learn overnight.

Has Ashland ever dabbled with the wishbone out of curiousity?

Not what's dirty is not utilizing the kid as much as they should. The kid needs to have the ball in his hands a lot more than he's getting it right now. The scouts will recognize his talent no matter where he is played.
