Preach it Jericho!!:thumb: With the running backs we currently have and an O-Line which can deliver...this is something I would really enjoy seeing. As for Bonner, can you imagine him coming out of the backfield with a head of steam? :fight:

When a team has a player like Bonner they need to find a way to get him as many touches per game as possible. But it is what it is. If the Coach does not call his number what else can you do? Nothing.

I have a good feeling about this game. I think it will be another Ashland Russell slug fest. The team that can control the line of scrimmage will come out on top in my opinion.

I was at the Tomcat practice yesterday and I saw Sam Hunter run the 1st team offense all practice and do a pretty good job.

...I would rather see some power sets in the backfield with all the quality running backs the Tomcats have.(wishbone, fullhouse) The Tomcats could have two running backs shoulder to shoulder blocking anything at point of attack, including o-line in the way.

Jumbo+wishbone= Jumbone...

I agree wholeheartedly with the wishbone move. I was just talking to somone about this the other day. I think they should move Bonner to fullback, and go with the wishbone.

My thinking was to start slow with just a couple plays ,The Tomcats really need a power set down in the red zone to push it in the end zone. Herb Conley would run a belly 2 or 3 till you stopped him very simple.

Bonner long snaps too.I hear some big schools are interested .

I like how y'all think. Bonner should get the ball more. :thumb:

The word in Ram Nation is that Abrams has an injured knee, is this true at all?

This wouldnt be a bad idea...

Is Sam Hunter a transfer ?

No, he has been in the Ashland school system his whole life.

Never heard of him. 2nd string quarterback ?

Sam is a freshman. Last year as an eighth grader was one of the Tomcat Baseball starting pitchers.

Does this make him a good quarterback?

Ashland has plenty of film of Bonner at TE to send to the colleges, and with Hart's college connections I feel confident that moving him to FB would not hurt his chances any of receiving a scholarship.

Not that I am aware of. He didn't suffer an injury against WC. So if it has happened it has been during practice this week. I'd say this is mostly rumor, if anything he may just have some soreness from running all over everyone.

This will be my 2nd visit to Putnam Stadium this year. The last time I came away very unimpressed by the Tomcats, and coach Leon Hart. They seem to have improved since week one, but I don't know if they've improved enough to beat Russell. Russell definitely has the advantage from a coaching standpoint, and I expect the Devils to come away with another victory.
