Russell just has a better team. You have to play the comptetion that is put before you, so some of those easy games, they are what they are. Get some good looks at upcoming talent. But I don't think they makes a team unconditioned should they wind up in a 4'th quarter battle. Good to see the Tomcats improving, I like for them to do well any other week that when they're playing the Red Devils.

27-14 Russell

Russell 31

Ashland 17

Defensively all the Devil's will need to do is load the box and stop the run. The Tomcat passing game is non existent at this point. The O-line is providing protection but I do not believe the cats could complete 50% if they were throwing on air.

I think Royalty will be fine he just needs a little confidence. I will go with Ashland 21 Russell 14

All Ashland has to do is the short pass 5 to 10 yards. and Russell can not stop it.

Russell will win you are not a big fan of Russell as we all can see but that's ok

it will be a good game but they will win. More power and a better defense.

Raceland and Ironton beat'em and Russell will to.

Russell - 35

Ashland - 26

If Russell was a lot of turnovers Ashland may win but thats the only way.

I am pulling for Russell. Advantages for Ashland - at Home and they are hungry for a big win. Russell advatages - 3-0(not reaslly been challenged yet, although Boyd is very underated) and Russell knows how to win. The "D" will be the BIG factor in this game. Russell has 1 more very large advantage and that is Gary Morris. Remember Russell players, Defense wins games!!

I can't share your wish for a Russell win sore loser but I just posted to welcome you to BGP and to tell you that I really like your user name.:thumb:

Wow' date=' since me and this Russell fan are friends I am going to answer his for him.. He was at the Russell game. Maybe you should read the other thread alittle closer before you try to make jokes...[/quote']

I will use your own words to open this post........Wow, was I quoting you? Answer: no.

If I misread the post on that thread then so be it and I was wrong. I am glad that you to it upon yourself to be a spokesperson though.:lol:

That's what all of the Russell fans said a couple of years ago when the Tomcats beat you in the o.t. game at Putnam. :sssh::lol:

I guess we will see. I don't see Ashland being able to stop the Russell rushing attack without loading the box, if that happens they may give up long passes.

Which Russell has torched every opponent with the passing game so far. Be it level of competition or Russell's skill. I guess that is going to be decided come Friday.

I am glad however to see many fans picking Ashland, that is just more motivation for the Russell team who has yet to be pushed to their full potential.

Aas for the bolded parts.......

1. Yes, we will see. Russell should be favored but imo Ashland will get them.

2. Yes it will.

and for your last paragraph.....Glad we could help :D. I will say that if a Russell team has to have predictions on this thread to give them "more" motivation to beat an arch rival then they are in trouble. Seems to me that they should have plenty enough motivation w/o anything else but who knows?

Old Rambler, you need to quit staying up until the wee hours on this site. You get cantankerous and mean to us poor Russell fans.

I don't think our boys need any more help getting up for this or any other game. They are also very focused. I really don't think any of them read these and take them seriously. I would hope they don't read them at all

Someone mentioned that we needed to have an answer to Carter. I agree. But, what is the Ashland answer to Bailey and Abrams. Also, as Drew Abrams has said in the DI, the line has been blocking great.

Best of luck to all this weekend.

I, too, believe Defense will be THE big factor in this game. Defensively, Russell has allowed 42 points scored so far this year. Ashland has allowed 37. The margin between those two is one point shy of a touchdown.

I cant say what the final score will be, but I would bet the margin of victory will be very similar to the above stat.
