Nope, Wal-Mart is evil. :D

Ha. Finally a good future option for president.

I'm torn between Wal-Mart CEO and the Verizon Wireless commercial guy.

Always Low Prices. Always.

People love bashing WM but I've said it once and I'll say it again...They truly are an amazing business. Pretty amazing stat right there.

I can't wait till NCF sees this thread.:lol:

At first, I thought you meant the standard of living.

That sounds more like it.

I know they take pride in the savings they have generated over the years in cutting the costs on pharmaceuticals to their customers through low cost prescription service. The quote is in the billions.

I havent seen the actual statistics. As we all know.. Walmart lowers prices for everyone, but do they balance that with the low wages, lack of health care, retirement. child care....etc that their employees have to live with?

I work with the low income community. What is the ultimate savings compared to the overall cost to the government/community? Someone pays the price for Walmart's "cost of living" cuts. I guarantee you its isnt Sam Walmart or his family.

Walmart could not care less about USA products. It is all about cutting all of its vendors deep to the bone....which might be OK if you are Pepsi, not so good if you are Bushes Baked Beans (a great product by the way). Smaller, yet successful companies are held hostage by such companies

I admit, I shop there myself when I am desperate, but 99% of the time you will find me at Krogers or Remkes.

I do hate them but I shop there becasue in this area they are by far the chepest place to get my food.

Kroger 4.68 Red Barron pizza

Walmart 3.33

I could list at least 100 more but have to go to work in a few minutes.

As much as I hate how cheaply Wal-Mart paid me in college, I still appreciate them giving me a job and allowing me to have a steady income during my final 2 1/2 years of college, which made college less stressful and I made a lot of good friends their, not to mention that nowadays its the best place for someone to buy groceries and other items on a middle class budget :D

People complain about Wal-Mart, and justify their own shopping there because of the prices. Wal-Mart, and any other business's main goal, should be to serve their customers well.

If you don't like what Wal-Mart does, then shopping at Kroger's or Remke's or even the local small market or farmer's market is an entirely appropriate response (as you said you do). If enough people care about this, then Wal-Mart will change their way of doing business. As of right now though, that isn't the case, and IMO the claims against Wal-Mart are over exaggerated- I believe we have a current Wal-Mart employee here on BGP who does fine with them.

When people claim that the government should attack Wal-Mart, that is when I get upset.
