New cashiers don't make that amount when they start. The $10-11 per hour average is for all non salaried associates in each store. There are several long term associates, (including many cashiers) making over $15 per hour and many associates in Kentucky make $20+. I'm not "rolling out" any talking points either just posting what I KNOW.

WM buys from the same vendors everyone else does, do you bash Target for buy items made out of the country. Don't quote same old talking point rhetoric that has been pushed by the anti WM crowd, I really expected a better answer than that from you.

 

There's a big difference between buying from an overseas supplier and telling American companies to shutter their US operations and set up shop in China. That's what Wal-Mart does.

 

 

 

Other than some music from 4-5 artist what is exclusive? Every store sells promo packs of items with bonus items or different colors that are only sold by that store.

 

You didn't pay attention to what I said. If Wal-Mart had its way, they would love to tell big vendors such as P&G or General Mills to end their deals with Kroger, Publix, Meijer's, etc., and only deal with Wal-Mart. That's all products, not a select few. Fortunately they can't get away with that; at least not right now.

 

Jim you normally give very well thought out answers. I was serious when I asked what would you do if you were CEO to make WM a better citizen. Give specifics not the pro union/Democrat rhetoric, but what you would change that would make the company better. Remember you have share holder to answer to so you can't just give away the farm.

HB20 I know there are people making $7-8 to start but the average wage in all KY stores is Over $10. I know this because I worked at WM for over 25 years, I was a stock-boy all the way up to a store manager. I left the company and came back building bicycles. I saw the averages every week when I looked at payroll reports. The highest paid employees without exception are also the ones getting 35-40 hours a week. WM is not perfect but don't believe all of the propaganda against them. If this place was so rotten I would not have went back there after "Retiring" from managing in 2003. So when I say I know what I'm talking about when it comes to WM I do. I have seen it warts and all from the inside out not from the outside looking in.

Monopolization? What has WM done that Sears, K-Mart and Kroger didn't attempt to do? Each of those companies tried there best to rid the country of competition.

 

Kroger is selling groceries; last time I checked Sears was not.

 

Go to the KMart(in the shadow of a Super-Center) near where I live and have fun trying to disentangle your cart from the tumbleweeds blowing through the store. I don't even know how that place manages to remain open.

 

Meanwhile, go get your hair cut, your tires rotated, your new glasses, your groceries and your cheap widgets at Wal-Mart. ON SUNDAY, NO LESS! How is it necessary to get your hair cut and highlighted on Sunday?

 

But don't expect me to feel pity for the bad rap Wal-Mart is getting. On any day of the week.
