More hits for UL....

Featured Replies

Never said they were a national power but they were a few plays away from playing in the title game. After OSU got destroyed and embarrassed against Florida:lol:, i'm pretty confident UL would have beat them too.

HUGE difference between Florida and U.L., not even remotely close. Yes, OSU got waxed by UF but imo no way would U.L. have beaten them, imo not even close. That is another debate that could go on forever though, no way to tell.

Seriously? Had they beaten Rutgers they would have most likely been in the championship. The next issue is certainly debatable but there's no real doubt in my mind that UofL was better than Ohio State that year.

As I just said in my last post, there is no doubt in my mind that Ohio State would have cleaned up on U.L., imo it wouldn't had been close. We will just have to agree to disagree on that one though.

I don't post much in these threads but I can say after having watched all three teams many times that season to say Ohio State would have demolished UL is ridicuous.

What about Ohio State's team that year makes you think they would have done that to UL? In watching them play Florida (who I thought wasn't terribly impressive most of that season anyway) they didn't seem to have much variety on offense and watching some of their earlier games that season I felt as though they were good but never so good that UL or WVU wouldn't have had a chance against them.

Florida's offense was good that season, but it wasn't much(if any) better than UL's was. Looking at what they did to OSU it is clear to me that UL could have scored on them pretty effectively as well.

The biggest question in my mind had that match-up occurred would have been UL's defense against OSU's offense.

While I understand you have a relative disdain for UL, I think you need to give credit where credit was due for that season and how good a team they really were.

^ I said that is a discussion that could go on forever and is just opinions with no way to prove anyones opinion. I never said that U.L. was a bad football team that season, as matter of fact I said the opposite in that they had a very good year. I just happen to believe the opposite of you. My dislike for U.L. has nothing to do with it. I don't think that U/L's offense was near as good as UF's and imo OSU's offense would had scored very well on U.L., the Cards defense wasn't close to U.F's speed and they also didn't have near the overall team speed as the Gators.

Like I said though and will say again, I will agree to disagree since there is no way to really know, just opinions.

^ If anything mirrored UF and UL that year, it was team speed. U of L was lightning quick at a lot of positions that season.

Your hatred blinds you my friend.

I can see just fine and as for the reason that you decided to place on my opinion, as does yours it seems my friend. Oh wait, that's different. :walk:

I don't think UofL would've blown out tOSU, but it would've been a good game that year.

Still... one great season doesn't make you elite. Boise State anyone?

 Well just have to agree to disagree on this on OR.

Florida's offense was not better than UL's....

Maybe it was a push. Florida's D and overall team speed were much, much better.

Florida's D and overall team speed were much, much better.

Better, yes...Much, much better, not even close.

I said it a bit earlier in the thread and got some cute emoticons from a UofL fan, but seriously, Krag better AT LEAST go 7-5 or I think he is toast. The Cards fanbase have VERY little faith in that guy. Even though a 6-6 wouldn't be that bad given he is just now having an oppurtunity to weed out bad influences and get his system in place, I REALLY don't think the Cards fans would allow it.

Bottom line: If Kragthorpe goes 6-6 and lose to KY = he is likely gone

If he goes 6-6 and beats KY = who knows

If he goes 5-7 = he is toast

Better, yes...Much, much better, not even close.

 Whatever you need to tell yourself.

Seeing as you have absolutely no way to prove that Florida's team speed was much, much better than UL's, your statement is 100% opinion based....Good try, OR.
