I've not been able to dig up anything on that. What I am hearing is that they have begun internal discussions about Barry Bonds and they are considering trading Jed Lowrie for Brian Roberts and moving Pedroia to shortstop.

If that's what you're looking for, you'll be stuck with Hairston.

 

There ain't no "probably wouldn't" about it ... the Diamondbacks would laugh you out of the room with that offer.

 

Just threw a name out there from the D'Backs minor league system. Obviously they won't be giving up a guy who is on the 40 man roster.

 

And getting "stuck" with Hairston wouldn't be too bad after all. The guy has performed all season for the Reds and is willing to play any position on the field. If the Reds are looking to make a push THIS year, I think we'll keep Hairston.

 

My point (and others in this thread) is that Hairston's stock is as high as it will ever be.

I would love both those moves...I've also been hearing they're interested in Texiera if Papi can't come back as expected.

Not nearly as cheap as Hairston would be. I really don't see the Giants trading Lewis. Heck, they might even be buyers as bad as the NL West is.

The D'Backs have enough Dunn type players. They need someone at the top of the lineup with speed that is going to get on base.

No, I can't think of too many teams that have players that put up the numbers that Dunn too. I should have said players that get on base less than Dunn and strike out just as much. That would be Chris Young, , J. Upton and Mark Reynolds.

Josh Byrnes has only been a GM for two years or less. Before that he was an agent. Josh Byrnes will do what it takes to make sure the D'Backs win the NL West. I'm not saying that the Reds are going to get a top of the line prospect for Hairston, but I do feel that the Reds can get a marginal prospect for Hairston. If you don't think that Hariston's stock has risen over the past three months, then you're kidding yourself.

His stock has definitely risen but not enough to get top prospects.
