The funny thing is how he arrives at his numbers every year. Uncanny that a guy as inconsistent as he is during the season comes out with basically the same numbers every year.

This day and age, people want to leave the little things out of the discussion. Like batting average, stolen bases, being able to bunt, being able to hit a sac fly, having the ability to take away hits and being able to throw out runners (assist). These are all the things I think Dunn struggles with, and has not gotten any better at. I love the home runs, but over a years time, the ability to do these other things better will help the team.

July 7, 200818 yr How do you blame Dunn for being 82nd in runs? He has been on base more than anybody on the team. He can't drive himself in. Actaully he can drive himself in. He's done it over 20 times. As has been said on here many times. He is what he is. I can't understand how people don't see his value, but I understand how people get frustrated. For a guy who knows the strike zone as well as him to hit .220 is hard to believe. Just think if he did expand the strike zone. We're talking .195. Next year when Jr and Dunn are gone it will be interesting to see who's upset b/c nobody can hit the long ball or drive in runs. Bruce, Votto, Phillips and EE will be under a lot more pressure.

At least that is what I am hoping for.
