No one wants him because he's not the type of player a team can win with. In order to win, you need guys who hit with RISP, move runners over, go the opposite way, etc. Dunn does none of those things well.

So he gets zero credit with helping them get within 3.5 but gets all the blame when they couldn't get over the hump? In a game where pitching is a premium, you're going to put it on one batter, surrounded by seven other guys with a chance. Did he make all 3 outs each inning? If you don't think Dunn's a good ballplayer, fine. But putting that on him is laughable. For god's sake, they lost the division to the World Champions...

You don't need your #1 or #2 run producer "moving guys over" or "hitting the other way." You need him producing runs ie scoring them and knocking them in. His RISP needs to be higher. No question. However, you're trying to describe a #7 hitter or a #2 punch and judy hitter. That's not his game nor his role.

Very true, but the #1 and #2 run producers on most winning clubs can hit the sac fly to tie the game or hit the ball to the opposite field when needed. Dunn just simply doesn't do those things. It's HR or bust for him.

Tell you what, you can give me $500 and I won't ask you to give me 5 one hundred bills, cause I know that will hurt. Just give it to me in singles if that makes you feel better.

Dunns problem is how he dissappears for a solid month. You can't have your highly paid superstar just shut it down for weeks at a time. Thats what you people don't get. Its about Ws not 40/100/100. You cant win with him folding up like he does. This has already been proven. So if you want to go down and catch him during a hot streak hit some HRs then great. You obviously don't want to watch the Reds play in Oct. I do. Thats where we differ.
