They need a whole lot of nothing. I keep hearing there looking better then last year?...Thats crazy to think about. They steam-rolled everyone. All I got to say is watch out 5A football!!!!!

Your right on cp99, To think about the Bluebirds Quarterback Tony Guidugli, its just going to be amazing. When everyone sees this boy throw the ball this year they will be believers. Division 1 all the way!!

You guys are clueless to think that all HHS has to do is just show up. They have a long way to go to be what 2007 version of HHS football was. Look how many kids they replace. I know that the talent is definately there. This group has a chance to be very special and I think they will live up to the challenge. Can't be on TV. Fox wanted the game to broadcast on a Thursday night, and that would have been fine if it were during the season, but the Thurs. night they wanted it was actually the Thurs. before the 1st Fri. of the season which you can't do. You can't play a game even a day before the season is scheduled to begin. The following Thurs. would have been fine but you know how National TV is, they want a particular day an of course it is not in sink with what High School rules dictate.:irked:

You got to love the Dairy Bar, or the Whippy Dip as its known in my family. But Tdy is right.

 

This just show up stuff and they will be better than the 07 team is a bit on the silly side. TG should be a decent qb, but saying he's a sure D1 thing is also a bit over the top. Heck, he hasn't even won the starting job yet and its no sure thing that he will. People want to forget about the Bardo kid and that is a mistake. Will throws the ball every bit as well as TG does. What TG has over Will at this point is some varsity qb experience and he can provide senior leadership. I won't be surprised if TG wins the starting nod, but if he thinks he's already won the position or that he can coast this summer, he doesn't know Dale as near as well as he thinks he does.

 

As for the 07 comparison, while people are entitled to their opinions, this year's squad is going to have to play awful well to be better than the 07 squad. Can they do that? Probably, but having the potential and doing it is often times far apart. Plus this year's squad is probably going to have a lot of juniors on the field. And I don't care how good juniors are, if they have to get matched up with a good senior dominated team, the senior team usually wins. Look at the Highlands 06 team as an example of what I am referring to. Who knows, the juniors on this squad may be good enough to make the results different this year. I think they can be, but my opinion never won a football game.

 

And for all the talk about the juniors on this year's squad on this site, it's (as always) the seniors that will decide the fate of this team. Will they provide the necessary senior leadership necessary to win state or will they be content to have won a championship their junior year; will the seniors make the personal sacrifice for the betterment of the team necessary to win; will the seniors embrace the juniors that start or will there be animosity to the number of juniors that start; will the seniors motivate the sophomore class to push the juniors and seniors or will they allow the sophomores to go about it half baked knowing there is little chance of the sophomores starting? Some of those questions are being answered right now and some will be answered in the fall. In any event, we'll know the answers is just a few months.

I agree!!! Last years seniors are a very tight group that lead by example...This years seniors to be need to put this question to rest and until they do, we still have a few ???

I agree totally. The seniors have to engage the underclassmen for success to be gained. What's nice for this senior class, is they have seen how it should be done. Hopefully they were paying attemtion.

Well said Malac, It seems like they do have some youngmen with alot of authusiasm , energy, and leadership qualities. That they would make good leaders. They were very fortunate to have such great teachers, role models and true leaders last year. It will be interesting to see who will step it up and fill the shoes. Good Luck!!
