I think the two biggest offseason stories/issues for the Bluebirds will be:

 

1. The quarterback competition between Guidugli and Bardo (and perhaps others, like Turner). The conventional wisdom has been that it's definitely Guidugli's job, but I've also heard that it's by no means a settled issue at this point.

 

2. The extent to which the offensive line comes together. This was a (and maybe THE) key to the team's success in 2007, and the unit has lost every 2007 starter except one.

 

IMO, the key was the blocking by all 11 members of the offensive unit.

I wouldn't worry to much about Oline. The 2007 line had only 1 returning starter also. And we know how that worked out for the Birds.:thumb:

True. Usually the only one not downfield and blocking was the ball carrier.

I have heard there are 2 for sure and as many as 4 players that were counted on that are no longer at the school. Is this just a rumor or is it true? If so what impact will that have on the team next year.

Alford and Brown are in school. Alford is on the team and in the weight room every day. Alford has the potential to be an outstanding linebacker in 2008. Brown is no longer on the team.

Alford has had surgery on his shoulder. Making sure everything is completely healed before he before he goes full on.
