If he applies for the job, he's not gone. He's still teaching at WV and attends many games. Whether he's cocky or not, his overall record speaks for itself. He was always promoting his girls and I know of at least six (I do believe there may be a couple more - at least one every year he coached with the exception of the 02 year) that went on and played at the next level. I believe he only coached 6 years so that's not bad at all. He went above and beyond to get the girls to the next level. What's so wrong about that?

 

Never felt he was a bad coach, just that his antics at times took away from what his girls were doing on the court. As I said I only see Walton a handful of times each year and when he was coach that was simply my observation of him. For all I know he's a great guy. Fair enough?

I haven't posted much, like normally, but I kind of wanted to wait so I have some more facts to comment on here for you all to read.

 

You all know I am pretty close to the school, the administration, and the girls/boy's Walton team. Now from what I know, Dan is one of the last choices to get the job. Yes, he probably would be the best for any team for that matter (Great Coach, and Person) but he is towards the bottom because of his job he currently holds, which you all know.

 

Most of what or named, are coaches that are in the mixed, maybe not all interested, but I know Walton is interested in them. There's one candidate that is favored above the rest, but I am not sure if they will receive the job. Will find out in the next few weeks.

 

Ryan, the assistant varsity head coach/Freshmen Coach, is stepping down and getting replaced by his daughter.

 

This is what I know so far, hope this hopes everyone a little!

Sorry to hear about Coach Rosen and I hope for the best for WV. They are losing a lot of quality seniors this year and a new Coach will have the pleasure of putting a program together.

 

I still think the team last year really beat everyone they should except for a few teams, and did not have a bad season. Their win against Oldham was great and Rosen did a good job coaching that game.

As much as I respect Coach Rosen and thought that if more training in coaching, she'll be fine, but losing a lot of great players from this season, it is good to start fresh.

I think that is how it worked. I am not sure if she will help with Varsity/Jr Varsity, Probably up to the new and up-coming coach, but I think the switch is already been made. Who knows?

He lives in Verona, his kids go to WV and I think he saw the opportunity for an administrative position.

Just for the record, this is not just a Walton Verona position. My school district and many, many others have the same policy. It is common.
