Is there anyone you do like for this job?

Cory Miller would be great.

I think the administration has a couple of good candidates. An announcement can not be made until the job has been posted for 30 days, but I feel the next coach at Walton will be either Cory Miller or Dan Trame. And if Walton is real lucky - both.

Those are the two names I heard also. Both would be good but my preference would be Trame.

Know very little about WV. What is Danny Sullivan doing these days?

Dan is an Asst. Prin. at WV. He is the one being referenced in some of the previous posts.

Trame will play the best players no matter what grade they are in or who they are. Is that a problem?

A coach can't please everyone and he/she shouldn't try. The parents either have to get on board or shut up. A coach can only balance for so long and then he/she has to draw the line. The administration must support the coach and help with the parent distractions/displeasures. If they don't, the coach don't have a chance. I've been there, done that. Coach the game and if the parents don't like it, too bad.

Well said. To head in a new direction WV athletics needs to change their philosophy from the top down, and the top ain't the AD.

I know his daughter plays out there. Danny's a great guy.

That means WHAT!

WHAT?

:thumb:I'm almost positive that the reason he isn't in coaching is because of the fact that he is in the administration, they don't allow both at Walton. On the other hand I have heard several rumors surrounding him saying he may be heading to a different school to get back into coaching.:sssh: That is if we are talking about the same person.

The varsity track and cross country coach is an administrator in the district.

He does a good job with young players, but that is all he has had in the past. I think Cheesman's father would be a good fit. I think he is from there. He has developed her into a nice player. Does anyone know if he has applied?

If he got the job I have two words for you - Mass exodus

I don't have a problem with that but some of the upper classmen parents will.

Sounds like some of the parents know basketball,

And an outstanding coach who has dedicated a lot of his time to the success of WV athletics. If he is interested in the job, the administration would be foolish to not hire him. I would hate to see them make their third mistake involving coaches.

You're right but for some reason the Administration doesn't think being the Asst. Prin. at the elementary school conflicts with coaching duties. Don't make sense to me. If one Asst. Prin. can't coach another one shouldn't be allowed to coach.

I hear he is up for the principal's job at the elementary. Wonder if that would make him on the same level as Dan.

This post.

Alot of them think they do and they'll tell you so.
