New Coach at Walton-Verona

Featured Replies

I have to admit Collins would make a great head coach. He has coached my daughter for the past 6 years and the girls just love him and he knows basketball...PCHS would miss him!!

Just saw her at the Northern Kentucky girls High School Basketball Coaches Association Awards Banquet yesterday. Nothing was said then. When was this decided/announced??

Job was posted on Walton-Verona website last Thursday.

My guess as to the new coach...a previous boys coach who took his team to the sweet 16.

WOW. If he took his boy's team to the Sweet 16, why isn't he still coaching them?

I was informed of her decision last Tuesday.

Well, I guess you might as well tell everyone what your theory is. Maybe the administration new that there was going to be a shortage on hotdogs and couldn't bear the thought of seeing long lines at the concession stand during the girls games so the figured being mediocre was the answer? Or, maybe there was something deeper and more sinister than we could ever imagine? Or, better yet, maybe they just made a bad choice. Coach Rosen is a very nice person. I just think she was in a little over her head.

Maybe they made a bad choice but I think it's something deeper (that's just my opinion). I guess their next head coach selection will answer the questions. If the new hire is an outsider then they made a bad choice with Coach Rosen, if it's an insider then there was something deeper and sinister with the hiring of Rosen. Let's see how it plays out, it should be interesting.

I wish Coach Rosen the best of luck!

I hope Walton makes the right choice, I think "The Jeanie" might try for it. Just wait and see!

Coach Rosen had her up's and down's these two years. I hope she might stay in coaching and may get more experience and then maybe hold a varsity position at one point. Just wish the best her the best of luck!

When I hear of some people trying the job, I will sure to let you all know. I know a few people that are in the runnings now, but just waiting to see who all comes for this job!

I've heard some of the same with regards to who the next coach may be at Walton but would they really want to hire someone that may also have adminstrative duties as well. If it's the guy I'm thinking of he's an excellent coach and good guy but probably just a short term solution.

If we are talking about the same guy, he was told that he had to give up the assistant boy's coaching position since he was an administrator. So unless the administrators have had a change of heart, I don't think he could even be considered.

:thumb:Fair enough. I agree with the school actually. I believe that once you decide to go into the administrative side of education that you need to step away from your coaching duties. I'm sure that the job description for a Principal or Asst. Principal doesn't include being a Head Coach or at least the ones I'm familar with certainly don't.;) Admistrative positions would not allow a coach to do the job in an effective manner IMO as it would be pulling he/she in too many different directions.

Since Coach Euton is leaving Rose Hill, maybe she would be interested in the coaching job and commuting from Lexington. Also, her son would be a great addition to the Walton program. :D:D

:thumb:I'm almost positive that the reason he isn't in coaching is because of the fact that he is in the administration, they don't allow both at Walton. On the other hand I have heard several rumors surrounding him saying he may be heading to a different school to get back into coaching.:sssh: That is if we are talking about the same person.

Just from what I have heard, "he" ain't going to leave Walton. :jump: But who knows!?!

Look for Coach Richey to be a likely choice for the job.

That would seem logical, but not a option.
