Why?
I don't think that choice would be well accepted. And I think most realize that. Great guy though.

I'm an outsider so I have no clue what you speak of when you say it would not be accepted. Can you give any details? In your mind, is he qualified?

I do think he is qualified and a great guy, however there are some stronger coaches available that will show interest in the job.

Do you think he's interested?

I do.

Yes, and he could bring his daughter with him.

He does a good job with young players, but that is all he has had in the past. I think Cheesman's father would be a good fit. I think he is from there. He has developed her into a nice player. Does anyone know if he has applied?

Not a option.

I hate to see what happened to Coach Rosen. She was a nice lady and I think she was hired to fail. The first thing that needs to happen at Walton is to get rid of a few more coaches in the girls coaching staff. Why not go ahead and clean house while looking for this new person. I just think that there have been so many issues and just getting a new varsity coach isn't going to solve everything.

I just hope the new person gets to coach the team without having to take orders from people above in the administration. The new coach definitely needs to have a backbone.

Heard from a pretty reliable source Coach Richey is not interested in the job nor is Coach Wilhoit from Williamstown. Too much baggage seems to come with the program right now.

:thumb:I'm almost positive that the reason he isn't in coaching is because of the fact that he is in the administration, they don't allow both at Walton. On the other hand I have heard several rumors surrounding him saying he may be heading to a different school to get back into coaching.:sssh: That is if we are talking about the same person.

I hope that is not true. That would be a huge blow to all of basketball both boys and girls if this gentlemen left. If I were the Admin @ Walton he would get what ever he wanted. HE IS THE REASON that the feeder program Walton has is so successful:thumb:

What baggage would that be? If wanting to win games and be successful is too much baggage then it's probably good that they're not interested. Anyone with any knowledge of WV's girls b-ball program understands how much talent and potential that they have coming up. There have already been some successful coaches show interest in this job and I'm sure there will be more. Also, as C-Town stated, Cheeseman is not an option.

As I person who witnessed his attitude from the stands,:sssh: I would hope Cheesman doesn't have a chance. He was out of control at several of the games this past year. I don't believe Walton wants to jump in that boat.

Also, as far as cleaning house with all the coaches, the AD's spouse is one of the coaches and I can't see that happening. I believe the AD has a huge influence on who gets the new job. Just my opinion.http://www.bluegrasspreps.com/ubb/sssh.gif

I agree but I also feel bad for the girls that were sacraficed by this mistake. Coach Rosen was offered help by a lot of people on many occasions and choose to accept none. It's over and tiime to move on, but I do think the administration owes some of these girls a apology. It's not like this was a coach that just didn't work out. This was a coach who had no business being in this position from day 1.

This person has DONATED more of his time to these programs than anyone. If he wanted the job, I believe the Administration should take a hard look at the rules that Walton has put in place. If this person can be successful at both jobs, then it's a win win situation. If he is the best person for the job, I think you have to consider him. Just do what is in the best interest for the student athlete's. And I agree with C-TOWN and Weakside, Cheeseman is not an option.
