State Tournament Officials!

Featured Replies

I saw one of the worst calls ever in the Paintsville/Jtown game last night. The kid from Jtown jumps forward trying to draw a foul on a shot in the last minute or two. The kid from Pville is standing on the ground and the kid brushes against him and the ref actually calls it. For those that were there, that was absolutely terrible.

I like the big tall ref with dark hair from WKY. He does a good job and is always in control of the game. He did the tournament last year as well.

As a "neutral observer," I thought that Jeffersontown was getting squeezed pretty tight and received no favors whatsoever from the stripes.

In the Mason County/Elliot County game I thought that there were a lot of late "wait and see" calls and several "whistle in the wilderness" fouls called that really did't impact the play of the game.

What does that have to do with one call?

Wasn't that Jon Campbell from the 9th, who made that call?

Not really sure. Seems like I remember a kind of younger guy with styled hair making the call.

Merely expanding on the statement.
If that's the best the 8th has to offer, I feel for them. Sandlin wants to have the spotlight on him and he will make some calls to ensure this happens. Coldiron is a much better official. Can't believe he isn't going.

:thumb:Agree 100% with you and all the others with regards to Sandlin. He wasn't any good in the 9th and he has gotten worse in the 8th. If this is the best they can find then I say send Cornbread.

It's not the best, 8th region has two other officials that are much better then Sandlin. Coldiron and Knollman.

I thought the Hazard-Shelby Co. game was reffed very poorly today. I don't understand how some of these guys were able to get to the state tournament. That being said there are some really good officials here.

Elliott-Mason game, who was the taller ref with the thining on top? He was the one who really hut EC with both calls & non-calls especially down the stretch

Who did the Hazard-Shelby Co. game? There was no consistency at all in that game and tons of missed calls. People all around me from all over state were talking how one sided the game seemed to be called.

I thought the Holmes/Paintsville game was the worst officiated game of the day. Some very questionable block/charges, elbows not being called and then some ticky tack calls to make up for the blown calls.

Sandlin was his typical show-boater during the Lex. Cath/Owensboro game. He made sure everyone saw some of his calls by his antics.

This may be the worst officiated state tourney I have ever seen. There have been 2 or 3 games that were bad for both sides. What's happening?

Thought this morning was reffed pretty well. There were questionable/missed calls, but there always are. It didnt seem to go one way or the other and was pretty consistent, so not much to complain about. Miller got a few star calls, but that is almost to be expected at this point. Anybody know who is doing the game tonight?

I will tell you this... The guys in stripes yesterday let the Paintsville/Holmes game get out of hand and they are lucky it didn't get worse in the end...
