He did a great job in the 16th region tourney!!! Very good official.

I know Brian Sandlin is calling the boys. Not sure of any others.

If that's the best the 8th has to offer, I feel for them. Sandlin wants to have the spotlight on him and he will make some calls to ensure this happens. Coldiron is a much better official. Can't believe he isn't going.

Cary Lyle and Terry Smith will be representing the 10th region.

Very deserving and very good:thumb:

Coldiron has been a few times lately and does a great job, will miss him this year if what verybody is saying is halfway correct.

If I understood correctly, Mr. Boucher did not want Coldiron to work this year...he has been there 5 years in a row...not sure why that is, looks like to me you would want the BEST you can get...but once again he did not ask me! Good luck to all of the Official's going to the dance, I am sure you all earned it...

That would make since why Coldiron would not be working either the boys or the girls. I would say they would want some other officals to have that experience. BTW, Mark Howell is an excellent official.

Kevin Hembree is going to the boys from the 13th.

IMO, he's not very good either. If he and Sandlin are the best in the 8th Region, that's very sad. Howell will probably be invisible (swallow his whistle) like he was the few times I saw him and Sandlin will want everyone to see him. No telling what kind of show he will put-on down in Lexington.

Boucher explains his process for picking officials in last month's issue of Referee Magazine and he states that he doesn't like to send the same official more than 2 times in a row, so 5 times in a row would be a major stretch for him. He states that he wants to give other the opportunity to call the Sweet 16.

Ludicrous reasoning, IMO.

It's the state tournament. If an official is the best a region has to offer then they should be there.

The Sweet 16 deserves the best officials in the state regardless of how many times in a row they have been.

There is no limit on the best teams from each region advancing year after year, there shouldn't be a limit on officials that stand above others either.

Just a simple opinion.

Who exactly do you like?

What about Watkins or Asher? They are both under rated officials.
