This is true. But Ramel Bradley takes many "bad shots"... But to his defense... if UK didn't have them they probably wouldn't have won half the games they've won this season...

I think a big reason that Ramel gets a bad rap is because he was that one guy from that class that wasnt a McD's AA and also the fact that he is from New York City. If Ramel were from Florida, Alabama, California, etc. I dont think things would be as bad for him with fans. That's just my opinion, I could be off somewhere.

 

As for me, I love Ramel and always have. He will probably end up being one of my top 5 favorite players to put on a UK uniform. He makes mistakes, but he plays hard and gives his all every time out. He plays the way you would expect a Kentucky boy to play, and I love that about him.

I like Bradley. He is a two guard and is no more a one than he is a five but with the injuries he is the best we have. This is not his fault. Rhondo was supposed to be the point, not Bradley.

I don't like him, never have. I don't like how if he makes a simple layup he thumps his chest like Tarzan. Made several decisions last night in the final 3 minutes that really hurt UK's comeback.

 

Yeah, I hate it when players really love to win and try to get their teammates pumped up. What a loser. Let's kick him off the team.

 

I really appreciate how much effort Bradley gives game in and game out. He makes some stupid decisions from time-to-time, but any other shooting guard that was forced to play the point guard position would do the same thing. He also hits some very big shots and shows great leadership. I'll take Ramel on my team any day of the week :thumb:

I like Ramel he gives 100% and he is proud of the Kentucky name he wears. Does he make some bone head mistakes? Yes he does, but as I said in another thread he does more good then bad. Ramel has been forced to play out of position last season and this season. He is not a PG and I don't think he ever claimed to be. Ramel has a certain cockiness about him and I think it rubs some people the wrong way.

I don't like when he tries to take over the game when its crunch time when he doesn't have the ability to do so. I love how he's a leader and wants to take the big shot, but I think that hurts the team in most situations. That being said, I don't know who else I would want to take the "big shot." I'd prefer Patterson, but he's not an outside scoring threat. Its a complicated situation....

Well, my point is that it hurts the team, and ruins the flow of the offense.

 

Without Ramel this team would be even worse (he brings so much to the floor), and I'll take the bad with the good. But it is the fact that his mistakes are so elementary that is frustrating and mind-blogging.

Bradley gives it 110% and works his butt off. He trys his best.

I think it is saying something that people are in the game threads instead of just watching the game.

Bradley is like most players, has his good/bad moments but he always plays hard, regardless of the result. He's forced to play point at time, 2 guard at others and then dribble penetrate to break down defense, hoping to kick to the post.

 

His decision making at times, is frustrating but he's the best option for UK and the Dykes was commenting during the game, "hard to play 3 against 5"....

He makes several poor decisions when he scores 20 points it's because he takes half the teams shots for the game!

 

The last 3-4 minutes of the game I was wondering why he was still in the game because he had consistently took bad shots and never attempted to set the offense up with plenty of time on the clock.

Than who is the logical choice, to play that role on this current team?

To add to Strike3, keep in mind that in games such as the Miss. St. game, Jasper and Meeks are out. Should he bring in Porter to turn the ball over like he did in the times he sat Bradley down earlier this season trying to prove a point to him? How about Dusty Mills? All 5'2" of him with his 2 handed set shot. Who should it be?

I know Bradley is forced into a role that he may not be well suited for but he has to learn to play that role better. He is the starting point guard and doesn't rank in the top 100 for assists. He only averages 3.3 a game. He has to learn that this team runs through him and he can't try to win the game on his own. He has to set up the offense and make everyone around him better. I would rather see UK lose with Bradley only getting 6 points but 10 assists.
