Well if we're going to improve off of a 13-2 season in which we captured our 18th state title I will go with go 14-1 or 15-0 along with winning our 19th state title.

I don't think improve is the right word. To maintain #1, QB Smyth will have to step up or Kragthorpe will have to develope greatly. The team will have leadership and I am confident the "hunger" factor will be passed down. The weighlifting and indoor workouts will begin shortly and continue through the spring.

Returnees: Radcliff takes care of a DB and WR. DE/LB Whiting, Lewis, McCauley, Messina along with DG Bishop. Phillips will have help with X. Thomas at RB. Melillo, Nix will help replace Duttons. Leach is back at WR. Other QBs will have other positions offered to them due to athleticism. Next season's Jr. linemen will have to develop to help Lyons, etc. Watson and another Kupper come to mind. Coach Beatty and his staff are quite adept at modifying play calling to match talents of their players.

District foes will have their hands full with the Rocks. Trinity may play at St. X (Papa Johns) in round four this year. Trinity will host the Region 1 (i.e. Marshall Co) after the first rounds of district playoffs games (Unless the KHSAA changes formats) assuming they take care of business in the district.

I see no reason that Trinity should not be favored to win their 19th state title in football and second in 6A.

You left out Tim Phillips, back for his senior year.

^I could be wrong but I think he eluded to Tim being back and possibly helping out at 'X', the recieving position. I dont know about this considering Tim's size, but he definitely has the speed and moves for it. Case in point Tashawn Mcbroom. Although he could be saying that Tim will have help against St. X and wont have to carry the game by himself

How do improve something so perfect....

I think and hope you are speaking with a large dose of sarcasm. If not, then you need a large dose of humility.

As is said, the joy is in the struggle. As with all teams, this team will have its struggles. If their struggle, effort and teamwork result in a good year, then they will have earned any accolades given them. I don't believe anyone at Trinity wants anything given to them. Earning is fun and meaningful.

I agree.

How's that line go that some cohorts like to say? Something about the journey being greater than the end...

You will never know if it is sarcasm or not. ;) Don't assume though because you know what they say about assuming. :D Just so you know I have more history at Trinity than most on here...so watch what you say! :thumb:

"Tony", you've turned to the Dark Side since those ties were strong. You sound very much like a die hard Tiger fan during the pregame with my dear St. Xavier buddies from Germantown Little League:D

In my original post I referenced Xavier Thomas helping Tim at running back in 2008. No other teams in the area have an abundance of experienced linemen. I believe the Rocks linemen have as much experience as any group in the area..

Dark side  You are correct and I am proud to say that I have many good friends and associations at X. Unlike some people on here I grew up and realized that T/X are two great schools. You can and I do support both. These schools work very hard to develop boys into young men. As long as that continues to stay the same so will my opinion.

Unfortunately you are confusing my dislike for Beatty with my overall opinion of Trinity.

As far as my post on "perfect"...it was not meant as a slam on Trinity. We all know that everyone has room for improvement in some shape or form. As almost always Trinity will reload. I think the question for me now is the qb shoes and who will fill them.

I agree that Trinity should be favored to repeat for #19, they have a lot of talent coming back and coming up. If X and T meet in round 4 will it be played at X?
