Ravens Brian Billick Fired

Featured Replies

A few names as a possible replacement...Bill Cowher will of course come up and I think he will consider it because this team's philosophy matches his when he was with Pittsburgh. Two other guys that should be interviewed and should get consideration are Rex Ryan (former d-coordinator there currently with the Raiders) and Mike Singletary (former great Bear linebacker and current d-coordinator at San Francisco who almost took the Baylor head coaching position this year when it came open, also a former linebacker coach for Baltimore).

Rex is still in Baltimore. His brother is in Oakland...

My bad...thank GT!

I thought he would get one more year. I think both parties involved need a change.

Would they ask to speak to Marvin?

Wow. It's unusual to fire a coach who has won a championship, but I guess the name of the game in the NFL is, "What have you done for me lately?"

exactly

I heard that Florida just released permission for the Ravens to talk to Coach Billy D. and he is interesed.................(NOT!!!)....lol

It's all over the Ravens website so I'm guessing it is official.

Now I wouldn't be that upset if Brian ended up there.

Again, I'm basing my opinion off the series I watched on HBP and the continued success, the Ravens had on the Defensive side of the ball, after Lewis left.

You have your opinion and I have mine.

QB spot, has been a turnstile for the Ravens over the years.

He is an offensive coach period. I mean if he dont get another head coaching job somewhere then you will see him hired as a offensive coordinator, and that is because he is offensive guy. With him it was pretty much the same as with Marvin. Marvin is a defensive guy, however he has never had a good defense here with the Bengals, and it has been the offense that is the strong point...

And not much of one at that. Under Billick's reign, The Ravens offense never ranked above 16th in the NFL. He is headed to the college ranks or to a chair in front of a studio camera.

Billick is an offensive coach, as he never coached the defensive side of the ball on his way up the ranks...

That's what I thought too. He's supposed to be an offensive "genius".
